Well I work for a government contractor http://www.ds2.com defense support services. The contract we work under renews every october. Untill now there has been no competition. The year that all changed, and there are 2 other companies competing for the contract. One of them is Northrup Grumman. Well this was posted on there website yesterday Job Listings It's a listing of most of the jobs we do here.
we know that they did win the contract for the cable shop but now are wondering how little of the truth we are being told. 55-60k is impossible to find in this area especially with out college. Now I don't know what to do, but I will be sending Grumman my resume.

You can always get into the insruance industry. Pays well and great benefits and vacation. Hell I started out 2 years ago being a worker's comp adjuster at 39,500 and now my base is 58k with 3-5k in bonuses a year so around 61-63k. They pay for you to get the licenses you need.

On the sales side you can make much more 100K +. Just get your foot in the door.

Sales is the way to go if your looking for that kind of money without college, or manual labor with lots of overtime.

Or you can apply for a Police position, with overtime you can easily make that.

There are options out there to make that kind of money without college

i'm a big fan of always looking. Today, it's nealry impossible to move up a company. if you want a raise, you need to change jobs

Not to threadjack, but what did you ever decide about your job, B? I remember you expressing discontent with it, but I don't recall hearing anything more than that...

i basically quit/walked out/told my boss i'm done on a friday afternoon, and went in monday on their request and re-talked it out.

i'm still there... and still casually looking for more money, less drive, better benefits.
