i have a all stock 94 GSR.first aftermarket part i bought and put on was a new greddy evo cat back and it made my car slower.not to mention extremely narced out loud.8th mile and full 1320.ran several times, individual and average slower than stock crush bend exhaust.i could tell as soon as i put it on it didnt pull as hard.wtf ive decided to use stock type R parts from now on.couldve gotten oem I/H/E for what i paid for the greddy.i thought greddy was good stuff but i dont recommend getting one.has any one else had similar problems with "nice"exspensive parts

what size is the piping?

if your car is stock and you throw on a high flowing exhaust, you are hurting performance.

you may have lost a little down low power but i guarantee you picked up at least a couple hp at high rpms. my advice would be keep working on it... get a header, do something about the stock cat, an intake, maybe an intake manifold. then that higher flowing exhaust will do something for you.

i didnt think the integra would really fall into the s2k realm of recipie upgrades i thought a fancy exhaust would improve power.driver error is not an issue, sci fi.gonna put it in my hatch to make it faster.then i will just stay oem type R.

"Recipie upgrades"? What does that even mean?

i thought a fancy exhaust would improve power.driver error is not an issue, sci fi

A "fancy" exhaust will improve power, but you have to be a little smarter about it then you were. You should have waited and done several upgrades at once (intake, header, exhuast, cams, etc.). All of that stuff works together to improve power. You need to think of it from that perspective.

Also, what makes you think that it wasn't driver error? Are you professional driver?

And did you call AHHVTEC "sci fi"?!?

i will actually break this down for you.several upgrades at once that work together are recipie upgrades you knew that you typed it and answered yourself(to a differtent qoute?)as i said before, driver is not an issue.that is a retarded thing to think let alone type.i can beat the shit out of my integra no matter what exhaust is on it-i said i ran several times you should know you qouted me.and by fancy i meant reputable japanese tuner, and finally yes, i did

like the others said, you cant just throw an exhaust on a stock car and expect it to feel faster.. only thing you'll notice is the sound..
add some CTR cams

"Recipie" is not a word. No one has any clue what you're talking about when you type that. Please explain what you mean in a different way, or find the correct spelling for whatever word you're trying to use.

as i said before, driver is not an issue.that is a retarded thing to think let alone type.i can beat the shit out of my integra no matter what exhaust is on it-i said i ran several times you should know you qouted me.

Your ass sitting on your car seat is not a reputable dyno. Unless you're a professional driver and you actually raced your car on a strip before and after the exhaust and/or put it on a dyno before and after the exhaust then you have no idea what kind of difference it made.

and by fancy i meant reputable japanese tuner, and finally yes, i did

And once again, I will tell you that just slapping an exhaust onto an otherwise stock car isn't going to make a huge difference power-wise. Parts like intake, header, cat converter, and the actual exhaust piping and muffler all work together to make power. You should have waited and bought all of those parts at once, and installed them all at once. You would have noticed a much bigger improvement that way...

well that was the point of this post.like i said,i thought putting a greddy exhaust would add power by itself.it didnt.i dont care if i didnt spell recipie correctly.and yes,i ran it stock and modified as many times as i could for the $10 i spent each time i went wednesday nights at street night at new england dragway.i just wanted to point out that fact so people who read this post would spend $500 a little wiser than i did.thats all.

its not a retarded comment i dont know you so for all i know it could have been your first time at the track, i still say its driver error

any exhaust system in the world is only gonna give you about 3-20 hp you got to pay to play.

im running 2.5in headerback on my 1.5SOHC but then again as stated above... i paid to play.

ive got headwork, a cam, ported intake manifold, phenolic spacers, big throttlebody 4-1 header and quasi-tuned on emanage.

I'm not criticizing you for your spelling, I'm saying that I don't understand what you're trying to say, at all. Are you talking "recipe", like cooking? I guess that would make sense but I've never heard anyone use that term in regards to automotive modifications before.

and yes,i ran it stock and modified as many times as i could for the $10 i spent each time i went wednesday nights at street night at new england dragway.i just wanted to point out that fact so people who read this post would spend $500 a little wiser than i did.thats all.

You're still missing the point though. The exhaust wasn't a waste of money. You just need to take it a step farther to see results. If you're going to put an after-market exhaust on to your car that has a large diameter piping yet you're going to leave the restrictive factory manifold, cat converter, and air intake system in place then you're probably not going to be overly satisfied with the results. Like the others said, you need to pay to play.

And honestly I don't really know if the ITR exhaust is going to make that much of a difference either. The ITR's power increase over the GS-R comes mostly from it's factory ported and polished head, cams, higher compression, and the header. So maybe if you combine it with the ITR header and cat converter you'll see a gain, but just the exhaust by itself? You'll probably feel the same about it as you feel about your current one, it will just be a little quieter...

i meant oem type R parts period versus aftermarket, not just the exhaust.when my motor is in my hatch i think i'll be happy with the power anyway,i bought the GSR as a donor anyways i just been driving it recently cause i love the suspension and im waiting for my harness from rywire.will probably wind up getting oem CTR exhaust in the end for my hatch.i dont plan to use any aftermarket parts anymore.i never really did the greddy was an impulse buy,but im just saying is all, according to you i guess i shouldve tiltled the thread dont get an exhaust first.

well, you're gonna pay as much as an aftermarket exhaust for the CTR.. might as well get something that'll give you gains

Alright, that's cool. I just don't think you should discount the use of any after-market parts in favor of all OEM stuff. Yeah, you can make your car faster with CTR/ITR parts, but you can also do it with after-market. If you had just stuck an ITR exhaust on your car you wouldn't really have seen any gains either. You need to do more then just the exhaust.

That's all I'm saying...

took it off the car today.though i liked some of the tones it would gurgle it was way too loud .NH has exhaust laws that are pretty strict, too.oh well,i'd wanted one since the 90's.all is well again.thanks for the advice

if you want quiet w/ performance, look into the RSR exmag or the Apexi WS2... do a youtube search to hear sound clips
