I've seen quite a bit of HID threads and how-to's, but I am finalizing ideas and going to be doing this soon. My post is more for me to make sure I am doing this correctly. I'm looking to spend decent money on these, and the ones below are prob going to melt with HID's running through them. Suggestions? TYC maybe?

I need:
Set of Projector headlights
Possibly these? Honda 92-95 Civic (2Dr Hatchback/Coupe) Projector Headlights (Halo, Black Housing) | Halo Projector Headlights |JDM Style Headlights Conversion
Relays and all the wiring
HID conversion kit w/ bulbs

Do I need anything else? And I know there are a lot of people out there with this conversion, any recommendations or companies that have worked well for people? Pretty good with electrical, so any info. wouldn't hurt. Thanks.

Yeah, I agree, but it is an option. The problem is that it's easy. I'm not looking to hack apart my stock lights to wire in some hid's from another car, so the projector headlight kits out there already solve a small problem.

you do know you can buy hid kits that the bulbs fit right into your headlight with very very little modification?

Ok, you're doing this all wrong. HID bulbs with an H4 base do not make it function properly. If you put a HID bulb into a halogen reflector it will diverge the beam. The reflector for a HID bulb converges the beam, and then the lense diverges the beam.

With the TYC headlights you picked out, you'll have the beam-pattern equivlent of a flashlight. Sure, you'll have the blue-white color you're after, but the night-time visibility will be horrid. You'll probably be blinding people too, because the tyc headlight isn't designed for that type of bulb.

You need HID Projectors, not those shitty TYC 'projector headlight housings'. HID projectors look like this:

You need this:
HID Projectors
bulbs
ballast
relays to make the wiring harness.

You need to read my DIY thread.

One thing you could do is to retrofit some TSX Projectors into the TYC headlights. That's really the only way I see that you can do it how you've described.

Yeah I know what you're getting at and I intentionally left some details out to get the most info. from everyone. An HID projector is what I'm after. The problem I am looking at is getting a headlight unit, say one of those "dual halo projector headlights" you can get all over the place. Then removing the projector lights and retrofitting a HID projector in there. Would that work? or am I looking at meltage and crappy night time visability?

By the way, thanks for the info. from everyone. I am finally getting all the little details covered.

I have the ebay Solar halo projectors with a xentec 6000k hid conversion kit. I love them! I'm still trying to get the allignment perfect but the visibility is amazing. Most projector headlights on ebay come with h1 bulbs (which pretty much suck), so you just have to make sure your getting the right size bulbs with the conversion kit. Install wasnt too bad, its mostly plug and play. I wired the halo rings into the parking light wire, and there still glowing! Iv'e heard a lot of horror stories about the rings going out or leaking and sht, guess I got a some good ones ***knock on wood*** :) Well good luck with the conversion and post some pics!

Will do. As soon as my cash flow comes in.
