just got done checking my compression on my b18b1 motor, wanted to check it before i made any real plans for the motor/car.
#1=185,#2=190,#3=180,#4=185...
pretty nice and even across the board, but i dont have a manual YET,to know what the limits are?
is this withinn tolerance?can someone post the high/low limits for the b18b1.
anythoughts,thanks steve

Close enough!

Perfect is something like +/- 5psi, so you're in good shape. Those numbers are about par for any factory b18a1/b1 I've checked.

Sounds good. I'd buy a b18b1 with that compression. That'd make a good DD.

Not bad, but it's not good either. Sounds like it's had a medium-hard life. It'll be fine as long as you don't go F/I with it.

Might be a good idea to rebuild it either way.

From a Haynes:

B18B1

Standard...............................................199psi
Minimum...............................................135psi
Maximum Variation between cylinders....28psi
