I am swapping a F22b1 engine into a 90 civic hatchback dx and I have a question about the wiring. I have the POA-ECU and all the harness from the same engine.
My question is being that I have all the necessary parts, will it be very difficult to rewire the harness? I know that I have to use the original wiring from the hatchback engine and converting from DUAL POINT TO MULTI POINT plus VTEC convertion or it's better buy a convertion harness obd0 to obd1.

The reason is that I've had the hatch sitting in my garage for about 2 years without an engine. I got a really good deal on this engine so I thought to myself why not? Better horsepower and torque than many B-series.

If you got a really good deal on the motor, sell it for a profit and buy something different. F-powered EF's are disappointments.

You'd have to convert the wiring and buy the adapter harness. Should be pretty straight forward.

For those that are looking to make power, yea the F22 may not be your best bet but it's pretty torquey and great for just daily driving.

Comparatively speaking, the numbers for an F22A and a B20B are pretty similar. If I was looking for the same power/torque, I would opt for the B.

Actually, putting an f22b1 vtec into a 90 Civic Hatchback is quite nice too. I've seen it done and heard of it. F22B1 has alot of potential. Now there's Vtec Cam stage 1, 2 to support it. It'll pull LS, B20, can keep up with a b16a due to the chasis being lighter than an accord. I got a 94 Accord EX vtec and i smoked B16a Delsol, 2.5 RS, and LS... Don't judge a f22b1 just cuz it a single cammer.

No one's judging it, we're just saying that there are much easier engine swaps out there that will produce similar power figures...

No one's saying it can't be done or that you shouldn't do it, we're just saying that there are much easier swaps out there that produce similar numbers where you won't have to hack up your car as much, the B20B being a good example.

And no, I don't think the members here regularly go and look at posts from two years ago...I don't anyway...

You're RIGHT BRUTAL! B-series like the B20b and more powerfull B20z are good choices and easy swap, but i like to try something difreent. I have a lot of friends with regular swap, like B series into civics, H series into accords. But all of them are eyes open on my swap becouse it's queit difreent. I have all the parts and the resources to beging with the swap. Im gonna take pictures step by step of this swap and then posted in this forum so other people who want to do this swap can beneficiated. Thank's for you're comments guys! Very Apreciated.:)

No problem man. Yeah, do a write-up if you can. I don't think we have one for a F/H-series into a pre-92 Civic here...
