Another 3rd Gen who needs some direction

Let me enlighten you a little on your 3rd Gen Lude.

The most supported engine to swap into your Lude is the H22.
I have now made the mount kits to support the swapping of the: B16 B18 B20b B20vtec motors with an S80 transmission into the chassis.
I also figured out the shift linkage issue for this swap and can modify the shiftlinkage for you for a fee(please email me for info: 1funryd@comcast.net).
Axle information is provided upon purchase of my B16 B18 B20b B20vtec swap mounts

For more power you will either want to Turbo Charge it, or swap the H22 into your car.

Let me help you with some info that I put together:

This is what I was able to have produced for our cars. The H22 Mount kit

Produced by www.1funryd.com - me

Please note this is the project car, and is still under construction, we took care of the clearance issues, but you will need to be considerate of how low you will drop your car. We are still working on the Powersteering, and A/C brackets.

hello, i have a 1991 as well to tell you the truth i can't think of the model on engine i am running right now. I have gone through 2 of them and the velves keep blowing out on me and i was just wondering if i could put a JDM HONDA F22B DOHC NON VTEC ENGINE WITH 5SPEED TRANSMISSION 92-95 into it? and how hard would it be?

anything is possible, but that particular swap is not something any company has a kit for.

I would be just as hard as the H22 swap. It would still be a good place to start with and the F22B is a good motor to boost as well down the road.

Most people who go with this swap just go for the H22 because of the aftermarket potential and the 200hp 161tq.

But for a low buget swap, the F22 would be a good one as well. Still more power than the B20a or B2.

When you are ready to order the mounts, just email me at: onefunrydperformance@q.com

You my friend are miss-informed. I am the H22 project manager for the 88-91 preludes, and all the F, H series motors other than the S2000 motors will work with this kit.
They have the same bolt patterns.

would love to see a link to a webpage of said kit.

then you are one of the only people around that sells that kit. people have been asking about this for years and the only advice anyone ever has is "blood sweat and tears". There is occasionally a link to some ebay kit that never has good results.

Yes I am the only who sells these kits, because I am the only one who has brought a few more parts to light since 2006.

I am trying to get the B series mounts made to swap in a B18 and other B series motors and tranny, but its going slow right now, because the H series motors are cheaper and more powerful in stock trim.

I also had the Ksport Kontrol Pro coilover kits made for this chassis as well. Its been a long road, and I am still trying to get more things made.

I am currently having a traction bar kit made for the 3rd gens as well, by the same company that I contracted to have the H22 kit made.

I sell the H22 kit for $475 + shipping and paypal fees.

The majority of 3rd gen prelude enthusiasts know were to get the performance stuff from, on www.preludepower.com.

And no one else sells this kit. I put a lot of time and effort into getting these kits developed. To date I have sold rougly 100+ kits. Just read the links that I provided and you will see what I have done.

I own a 3rd gen, and I got tired of calling around to places to have them tell me, they do not support this chassis. So, I did something about it.

vacuum leak?

We just swapped a H22A into a 93 SI and when you start it, the revs fluctuate like a vacuum leak until it warms up and then it dies. We've sprayed it to find the leak and got no reaction. The ECM gives no codes. Any ideas?
Yes, the solenoid and oil switch are wired in.

It would be done in exactly the same way as an H22 swap...

well the h22 swap would be woth it if you have the time and a lil bit morew cash then the b20 lol but im also looking to buy the h22 and swap it into my 91 prelude si as well but i want to know if the b20a5 is woth the fix

That all depends on you. What is your goal? What is your budget? Do you have another car to drive daily? etc...

Projects like this take time, money. The average cost for this swap $3500-$4500 which includes the mounts, engine & tranny, wire harness conversion, axles, shift linkage, and misc expenditures.

Race 850

I run the computer at Emerald Coast Dragway and Tony's prelude runs 7's in the 1/8. Not bad for a bastard-B fwd car. Its actually kind of ridiculous.

Yeah he is leading the 3rd gen community in power and speed for the B20A5 motor on boost.

Goes to show, that this motor still has potential just lack of respect due to its design. 400whp is no laughing matter, and neither is 300whp for these motors.

Bump to the top. Update - 2016

More updates since 2008.

My site for other products that I have developed specifically for this chassis.

www.1funryd.com

I have been working to keep this chassis alive so I just wanted to show the work that has been accomplished over the years.
I am still around and kicking and trying to innovate for the 3rd gen Prelude.
