Hey guys. I have an early model jdm gsr b18c (P72) to put into my 96' ek3 also jdm. How much stress do I have and what is the easiest route? I was hearing it may be easier to put the OBD1 engine and harness into my car than trying to use back my engine harness. I am looking to turbo charge btw and use a Hondata. Please comment guys. Thanks.

Here comes teh sp00n..

OBD2>OBD1 conversion harness with the OBD1 P72 ECU.

Done.

Can you be a bit more specific. I am new to honda btw. Is it that I use the engine harness from the gsr (OBD 1) or do I use my OBD 2 engine harness and then get the OBD 2 to OBD 1 conversion harness?

If I do use my engine harness (OBD 2), are there any issues connecting to the motor and sensors etc.? Thanks and please bear with me, new to the honda OBD stuff.

Understandable.

Okay, so your car is OBD2. The engine is OBD1. This is ok, its not the end of the world.

What you can do, is use the existing harness in your car. You will have one spare plug for the extra O2 sensor that OBD2 uses. Just ignore this plug.

At the ECU, you will need to get an OBD2 > OBD1 conversion harness(Just at the ECU, it doesn't affect the rest of your harness). Then run the OBD1 ECU, and everything will run just fine.

Thanks a million guys. I have heard it was not much trouble, just wanted to be sure exactly what I am doing. Will update you guys once I have done the swap. Thanks again.
