has anyone chipped a car? and if so where did you get it. because iv been looking around and iv found chips that say it adds 7 to 10 hp and others that say 40 but i think its wrong.

If it's a cheap E-Bay resistor chip then you'll be lucky if it does anything besides fucking up your motor. Get a real tune or just skip it. What other mods are done to your car? If it's just basic I/H/E type stuff then you really don't need to worry about tuning yet...

yeah motor wise, si tranny, apexi exhaust and intake, i wanted to put a si cam in it but idk if it would fit and or do anything

Yeah, with those mods I wouldn't worry about any type of chipping or tuning just yet...

I chipped a CRX si of mine. It did gain a little power on the ass dyno. Fuel consumption was increased under high loads, but the real ticket was the rev limiter raised just a bit. That was nice. If I had to guess, I'd say I got 5hp, maybe a little more at the top.

I would suggest a real tune though.

Ebay chips = FAIL.

Real tune = WIN.

eGay chips don't really do much at all, but they ARE a great way to fuck your engine, if thats what you'd like.

You drive a 91dx i assume. You should do a multiport conversion and it will make more power for you. The things needed are 88-91 si ecu (PM6) 88-91 si dizzy and a intake manifold and injectors. My favorite way yo do this is to use a obd1 intake and injectors that way i dont have to install a reistor box and make it look cleaner i think

I do a lot of Obd-1 chipping on crome and you won't see no where near 40 Hp.
5-10 sounds about right but I pulled 13.2 on crome when we dyno tuned my car at prostreet. I had a H22 on 100 shot of nitrous 327WHp on 221 Lbs/Tq. Eugene at prostreet did the tuning on that chip since he was tuning it, Props to prostreet.

Did you bother reading anything in this thread before you hit "reply"? Obviously not. E-Bay chips are garbage. Avoid them.
