I don't know exactly where you want to go with this "project" But you could go with a turbo d series (go with z6). You could swap the old motor out and build a homemade turbo kit. There is tons of write ups on it and it makes it a really fun car. Thats just my 2 cents and its really not that hard.

Well depending on what your power goals are I would say go with a swap (b16, b18 gsr). Check out www.hmotorsonline.com.

yeah i was lookin at the B16a on the jdm website, i think thats were im leaning. i wanna stick to a N/A motor because its still gonna be my daily driver. i want to get a 5spd. lsd tranny to

Mpfi swap with a zc will get you quick snappy and reliable. Witht eh rest of the cash you have left over get some other goodies.

Factory LSD transmissions tend to be expensive. Just warning you...

Um 2-3 Grand does lots if you are going with a d or even b series. Obviously something hypothetical like a k series is going to be expensive. Also you would have to try it first before you just assume or answer. Doing swaps and labour yourself will stretch your dollar a lot farther. The more you know and can do, the more you'll save.

IMO.. go with a b18a/b .. they're cheap and everywhere.. throw a b16 lsd tranny on it and have fun.. Crower makes nice cams the b18a/b

ive got a b16a in my ef, nothing but I/H/E and its totally a worthwhile investment IMO... another way you can go is do a mini me swap with a d16a6 block and d16z6 head.. my cousin did this with arias high comp. pistons inhis crx and thats also an extremely fun car to drive.. theres so many options... just do some research and figure out whats best for your goals.
