sorry, if this is asked frequently or if you completely frown upon people like me (lol)

i'm not looking for power or even to make my car any faster, but i was wondering if there's something SERIOUSLY wrong with the headers and exhausts that go for like 50 bucks on ebay (those knock-off brands. not used, nice ones of course). my car was given to me from my brother and the exhaust is almost non-existant.

are these things going to crack into a million places as soon as i turn it over?

Yes, they are garbage. Terrible welds, poorly made, and sound like crap. Stick with name brand when it comes to exhaust components (hks, skunk2, greddy, dc, apexi, etc).

If you're not looking for any type of performance gain, then what's the point here? Just stick with your stock exhaust manifold. Are you just wanting to add some bling to the engine bay, or what?

why are you trying to hook up an accord its not going to be fast.. you get what you pay for btw you pay 40 bucks for headers they are going to perform an sound like 40 dollar headers.

Accords can be decently quick with a bit of money invested. You've got some good options with both the 90-93 and 94-97 chassis...H22 swap is stupid easy, factory engines that take nicely to boost, etc...

Yeah, Thats kinda like sayin "Why the hell are you beefing up that 300C? It's got so much shit in it it's not worth it.", only with a japanese twist. Accords have the biggest (I understand bigger isn't always better though) engines of the Honda cars of that era, along with the Prelude, which is a sportier version of the civic, plus they're comfortable cars. sure they're a little heavier because of it, but they still kick ass. It's kinda like "check out my CR-X, I can only fit two people and I can feel every pebble on the road but hey, I'm putting out 300 hp." Versus "I'm putting out 250 N/A, with decent ride quality seating four and power everything." I guess it's all in taste too though. Don't get me wrong, I love a good CR-X, just impressive when a bigger car is built to kick ass.

Sorry for the jack man, I'd say get OEM shit if youre not looking for power. That way you know it's good. Look at me 225K on mine, and it's held up fine. just keep it out of the mud.

Nothing wrong with accord, just not as much aftermarket support as the B's. Ive heard some cheap exhausts and you get what you pay for (like said above). I hate hearing the nasty D series civics running around town sounding like an old oil burning, out of time drowning neon. Versus my B series monster with my 4-2-1, 2.5" piping and HKS muffler i sound like something that should have alot more power than it does. Ive gotten lots of compliments about my car and many are "thats the nicest sounding honda ever". Exhausts arnt all about power increase, it gives your car character and can speak alot about your taste in cars. Track performer, or circus performer.

"why are you trying to hook up an accord if it's not going to be fast?"

seriously? did you guys even read my first post? the stock exhaust is literally almost not even there. as of right now, it's louder and sounds worse than any of those 20 dollar exhausts would.

like i said, i'm not looking for power. just wondering if these exhaust would be okay for an everyday driver. unless you'd like to point me in the direction of a nice FULL exhaust for under 300, this seems like my best choice.

oh and according to a few places, they were wanting around the 500 dollar range for a STOCK exhaust. no thanks. are there any good companies that are within reason?

Shoulda read the first post. It would have saved you from lookin dumb.

To the OP, Im with Brutal, stock exhaust is gunna be best. The shop quoted you for a stock replacement with all brand new parts, and the install. You can go to junk yard or two and get all the pieces for cheap, and install em yourself. You might even get lucky and find a car that recently had the exhaust replaced. Avoid E-bay parts. Theyre cheap for a reason.

get the f22a4 header, that will be best....

the a1 and a6 both have cast iron -like headers, the a4 is more after market type style and put out anywhere from 2-6 more hp...

i think i'm just going to go ahead and buy a full megan system, but like a piece at a time.

now a question, let's say i bought their 4-2-1 header. would it fit onto the rest of my stock system? then i would, obviously, eventually buy the rest of the system.

Yes, it will. It will bolt right up to your factory cat converter. This is exactly what I have on my car, a Megan header with the factory cat. And, if you end up getting their exhaust as well it should bolt right up to the cat converter also.

A piece of advise though, if you get the Megan header, don't use the flat cat converter gasket that they give you. Go to the dealership or a parts store and buy a new donut gasket. The flat gasket won't work right unless you tighten the exhaust down way past factory torque specs...

for megan, it depends on what stryle, their full racing will have a diffrent flange, one of them i think wont even have one cuz on that level ull be welding anyway... there are some that should directly bolt in though...

ah ya beat me tyo it brutal, listen to him though, he knows whats up

Yeah, I'm not sure if they even make a race header for the Accord. I know they do for B-series engines but I'm not sure if they have them for any other applications...
