Hey guys, I know some are going to say that I should search but for some reason it is sating that an error has occurred every time I try. Here's the deal...I have a 1990 Integra LS 5 speed. I have the opportunity to get either a 1990 Civic DX hatchback or a 1990 CRX Si shell. I would like to swap in the integra engine, tranny, all brakes, seats, and other small things but I am trying to figure out what all I have to do to make it work. Also, I know the car will not be fast, but it should be pretty quick right? I would like to make a decent little auto cross car out of it.

Im working on a similar project. Im havng trouble searching also. Here is what I can tell you, its what I have learned in the last week or so while collecting parts for this project.

Get the CRX Si shell. It should already be MPFI, the other is DPFI.(I think. I still havent got all the DX/LX etc figured out) You will have to convert the DPFI to MPFI if you go that way. Its OBD0 like the 90 Teg so no problems there.

If you have an entire 90 teg then you don't really have any questions, until you start actually swapping stuff. Since you will have every part already, you wont have to spend every day at pull a part for a week. Here is a link that I found that I think will help.

Can anybody tell me what the difference between a b18a1 and a b18b1 are? is the b18b1 JDM?

well, turns out the rex has some bad undercarriage damage so I had to pick up the hatchback. I have someone who will do the mpfi conversion so thats taken care of. Now someone told me that I can mixmatch engine/tranny mounts to make the b series fit. Is that true or bs?

B18a came in 90-93 integras. B18b came in 94-01 integras and has 2 more HP. its in the reference section, i suggest browsing around in there, for your own good ofcourse. Trust me...

To put any b series engine/tranny into a ef you will have to buy conversion mounts. Either hasport or there are several others out there as well.

Thanks man. I'll take a look see what i can find. The reason i ask is the kid who sold me the car said it was obd0 cause it's a 1990. but with a b18b1 it would have to be converted to obd1 right?

While rite somewhat...youre still wrong. The 90-91 LS had 130hp and was obd0, the 92-93 LS got a hp bump up to 140hp and was changed to obd1, In 1994 the LS was given 142hp and stayed obd1 until 96 when it was changed to obd2. The 2 hp difference from 93-94 was from a redesign in the intake manifold, tuning and camshafts. If im wrong somebody lemme know.

No my last LS swap in my civic was OBD0 all day. It had a 90 block, 92 head, 96 intake manifold, and 2000 camshafts, but it was still Obd0. If your plugs are yellowish clear youre obd0, grey is obd1.

True, i already knew that i just didnt think it was necessary to add in.

Alright cool. So with all that being said, do i just have a 92-93 motor in my 90-91? With that extra 10hp gain?

ok, I got the mounts and the engine is in the car. So far I have changed over all of the brakes from the DA, the axles are in place as is front and rear sway bars. I still need to buy the shift linkage. The conversion harness is ordered. It is actually coming together nicely. Now, I know this car isnt going to be as fast as my coupe but does anyone have an idea as to what to expect as far as performance goes? Once it is in good running condition I will be getting a decent suspension kit..

I made a little bit of progress this week. I found shift linkage for it and its on and working great. The harness came in and I got all of that plugged in but for some reason it will not start. I think the injectors light be clogged because I am getting spark to the plugs and getting fuel to the fuel rail but the plugs have no smell of fuel. I guess now I will be looking for some obd0 injectors? Is there a good way of cleaning them?
