Done some searching and what little info I found was conflicting so I was hoping there was a guru in the house that could give me some straight answers. I have a 92 hatch D15B7/Auto and I'm looking to do a swap but keep it auto. What is involved with an LS/auto swap? And is there another direction I should be thinking about, the LS swap from what I have read is the easiest\cheapest but if this is not really true let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have never dabbled in auto swaps, But it should be straight-forward if you stick to the OBD of the car you are swapping into
since your car is obd1 you should be looking to get a swap from a 1994-1995 integra, this way you can get all the right parts from one car
You will need:
The engine (with the mounts)
TRansmission (also with the mounts)
shift cables
axles
ecu
engine wiring harness

This is a very straightforward swap because the civic and the integra chassis' are nearly identical so everything plugs and bolts right in
the only 2 things you may run into a problem with is the wiring for the o2 sensor, some of the early obd1 civics (1992 and 1993) Only had a 1 wire o2 sensor, while some came with a 4 wire. With the integra engine and ecu you will need to use a 4 wire o2 sensor, so check your car to make sure it is already wired for it.
The second thing is that some civics came with a firewall mounted MAP sensor as opposed to a throttle body mounted MAP, the way to check it is to look at your throttle body that is on the d15, on the top of the throttle body there should be a sensor that says "map assy". if the sensor is not there then look at your firewall directly above your fuel filter, and you should see it there. what you have to do is if you have the firewall mounted MAP, then you need to simply extend the wires to the MAP on the integra engine once you get it in the car.
Hope this helps, if anythign is confusing, just post back.

Would it be the same if it was a EK chasis? Im interested in doing an auto B series swap into my auto 98 EX Civic. Thanks for any help.

umm, The only thing I am not sure about with the ek is the upper engine mount and the engine wiring harness, but if you were going to do an EK I would get a 98 integra engine/tranny and an ecu (p75) from the 98, actually just tke all the parts from the 98, but like I said, some of the ek civics had the wierd wiring harness and wierd upper engine mount (drivers side), so Im not totally sure.

No clue, I always thought the tranny was controlled by the regular ECU,
I just checked my alldata and It definately shows a tranny control module on the driver's sde of the car, so I would think that you might have to replace this with the integra one too.

ill keep that in mind. I recently did an auto to manual swap but it was a d-series to d-series and it was very straight forward. Im thinking of just leaving this subject alone as it seems a little too intriguing for me at this point. Thanks for all the help regardless.

I have actually done an auto b series swap into an EK hatch. My best suggestion is to do a manual transmission conversion. there is alot of modification needed in oder to do one of these swaps. The first issue is getting all the parts. I would suggest that you get the engine from an automatic GSR made in japan. there is one main reason for this, you will not have to deal with the TCM. The JDM GSR uses an ecu like a civic with all the components in one box. If you do decide that you want to do the swap with the US motor Boomslang makes a conversion harness that will plug the TCM into the ECU. Now those are the wiring issues. in a very small nutshell. In order to make the motor fit in the car you will need to cut part of the chassis from out of the way to fit the much larger b series transmission in addition to making a motor mount for the top of the transmission. If you decide to do the JDM GSR AUTO then boomslang might still have the pin-out for that ecu or you can call 850-458-8863 and ask for Jacob and ill give you the pinout for the conversion harness.

Here is the thread on the one that I did:

Thanks

Damn, did not realize the auto swap was such a PITA. I thought it was a lot like the regular manual swap, basically a plug and play with alittle tweaking. I have actually been looking into doing a manual swap mainly because finding a complete auto swap has not been easy. I wanted to keep it auto because this a DD, but it looks like for just ease of finding parts and being able to get my sh*t back on the road faster I will just convert. Thanks again to everybody for the info, you guys probably saved me a lot of headache by finding this info out now.

I have a new auto tranny question. Is there anything special I have to do to run a obdII auto tranny in my 92 DX? the car is a 92 the motor is a 94 D16 and I found a tranny but its out of a 98-99. Is there any additional sensors or something that would not make this thing work if swappped? Thanks

help: swaping my 96-99 jdm gsr auto to my 96 ls integra.

sup man! i read your thread about swapping you gsr engine to your ek and it was a great job you did.. i bought a 96-99 jdm gsr(b18c) engine, comes with automatic transmission, wire and harness and jdm sir-g ecu (obd2). i have 96 acura integra ls automatic trans. my question is how can i connect the jdm ecu to my ls? is is true just only plug and play? im just wondering that eventhough they are both obd2 ecu, is there any problem with their wiring? right now im stuck and struggling about the wirings. i hope you could give me some info how am i able to swap this gsr auto hsr engine to my. the wiring is only just my problem hope you could give me a pinouts of it. thanks for the help man and im hoping my project will be done soon. reply me back asap.

Dude, stop bringing back the dead threads. The people who posted this stuff are long gone. They're not gonna reply. Just bump your new thread if you're not getting any help...

b20 vtec

im wondering what i would need to do with my b20 block to make my b16 head work on it...thankss

No offense, But, Are you fucking serious....what the fuck does that have to do with an automatic b series swap....try using the search feature next time. go to golden eagle's web site and buy a ls/vtec kit. for fucks sake...
