My Nissan can't make it up the driveway with out using planks of 2x6, I needed something that was easy to lay down long enough to get the car out of the garage, then remove them til I get back. pictured is only one set, I made two of them. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm hoping this is long enough to allow my car to make it up, last time I used 2x6s I ran the boards all the way up the apron, however those boards were flat and didn't make up for any low spots where this new setup does.

we'll see when I get around to testing them...

I put two handles on each end so to move them I just fold them in half and grab it with one hand.

Idea is to store them in my shed, and when the Nissan is out I'll put them in the garage, when I put it back up I'll put them back in the shed.

total cost was around $15.00

Not a bad idea. I used a 4x4 cut diagonally lengthwise in Germany to help the gap, but I just left it there all the time. Some of my neighbors had some metal ramp thingies to help.

I'm with recked. Let's see the nissan too. How about in-use shots?

lol its flat

When I had them do the driveway I showed them my car and said, make it so I can make it up it!

They did one hell of a job, the before driveway was very steep, however, even with it as flat as they can get it, it's still a no go =( I wish one board was enough, but my car is too low, hopefully that I made will allow it to make it up, if not I'll have to add a few extra boards at the end.

Link to "the thread"?

It's the only way to do it, if you're going to mod a car do it right, last thing I want to do is have ANOTHER modded car that I need to rely on.

no thanks!

Truth be told, when I had my civic that was lowered and boosted, I use to rub pretty often, I really didn't care much, it was a civic and nothing special. However, my Z is 5 years old and to this day is pretty much spotless and looks better then most Zs sitting on dealership lots.

It's hard keeping a car looking mint. even more so when it's sitting on the ground.

The plastic-clad Datsun too sexy for your driveway ? Hmmm.. I would think that since you've been front-and-center to the Z Value wars for so long, you would think differently of the status of the car. Keeping it nice ? Those planks should do the trick.

But if you get SO worried about the condition of the car, it's only going to lead to pain when the value drops anyway and you wasted all those years babying it like it was unique artwork.

Trust me, my CRX and me went through this.

Value of the Z has already dropped, you can pike up 03s for low teens now.
Thankfully cars with low miles and in mint condition no matter what make or model tend to hold a nice value for other people who collect them.

240Z in maryland with ZERO rust could easily bring in 8-10K
240Z with rust maybe 1000-1500

1990 300ZXTT with high miles and normal wear for a 18 year old car, maybe 8K
1990 300ZXTT with low miles perfect paint and clean interior could bring in 20-30K

same goes for RX7

I've seen them beat up locally for 5-9K (newest gen) however, low miles, 20K seems to be the starting point.

350Zs right now boosted with ok bodys are pulling 20-25K on the low end. some are going in the 30-40K depending on what engine work as with what turbo system ECU setup.

Another thing to make note of, I sold my 1995 Honda civic DX for 4500 CASH plus the guy gave me a loaded A4 on top of that with a RS4 body kit... in the end it worked out to around $15K for a car I paid 7000 for about 4 years before that.

Will I see a big drop in value for my 350Z as it sits with low miles? I highly doubt it. It's pretty much hit the bottom already.

You out of all people should know that about values of having something in mint condition, I sold my F4i for 1500 less then I paid, I had it for 4 years and it had over 10K miles on it, bike was mint and the first person to view it bought it.

If you're into owning nice things, its really hard to find something in nice condition, I'm one of those people who is willing to pay to get what I want, and also like to take care of my chit so when it comes time to selling it, I get what I want back out of it.
