Hello,

I want to turn my 92 Accord into a CF4 Accord SiR and I was wondering does anyone know where I should look to get the motor installed without being ripped off? Also I would to convert my auto trannsmission into the S-Matic transsmission seen in the Perludes....Does anyone know where I can find these transsmission? I already know what type of engine I need. I just need to know where to find the transsmission and where to get everything installed. Having seen these Accord online....I feel in love with them and I already know that the engine is not as good as the H22A but everyone has there own desires as far as what they want to do with there cars.

Thanks,

Jasmine

The F20B definitely has its merits. I wouldn't say that it's not as good as the H22A. They both make the same horsepower, while the H22 makes a little more torque because of the extra displacement.

If you already know where you're getting the engine, see if they can include the sportshift tranny that comes with the F20B.

Also, you know that the auto version of the F20B only makes 180 horses, while the 5-speed makes 200, right?

As for where to get it installed...where are you located?

Hi,

I'm located in Philadelphia, PA. I have contacted 3 shops and they all quote me 3K. However, I'm not sure if that's the going rate or not. I will have to save for that kind of money and wonder if it's even worth it because it will take me about 3yrs to come up with that money since I'm a student and only have off during the summer months. The engine is going for 2500K plus another 3K puts it about 5500K. I'm not making that kind of money. There is a shop down in Florida that swaps for only $750. However, they don't do automatics.

Thanks,

Jasmine

Well, that's a good price for the ENGINE, if it includes the longblock, tranny and ECU. It's a fairly rare engine and usually fetches a higher price. $3000 for the install in just plain ridiculous. You shouldn't be charged any more than half that for the install. There aren't any different mounts to dick around with, you only have to convert from OBD2 to OBD1 (which could be done via a $300 OBD converter) and you're sticking with an auto tranny.

Obviously, a cheaper route would be an OBD1 JDM H22A. But then you wouldn't be using the CF4 Accord engine.

I'm not on the east coast any more, but I'm sure that some of the other guys on this board could point out a more reputable shop to you. Good luck.

HEY TERE THOSE GUYS ARE RIGHT. YOU LIVE NERE PHILLY , RIGHT ? JUST CHECK OUT H.P.I. IN HARISSBURG PA. :) OR DYNAMIC MOTORSPORTS IN DILLSBURG PA. BOTH CAN HOOK YOU UP FOR A REAL GOOD PRICE. ;)

I have a CF4 Accord Sir-T and the car and engine are pretty unique. I just wanted to ask how far are you going to go as for modifying the car? I have some CF4 one-piece headlights lying around if you want them ($245). They are the silver backed ones (uses your stock halogen bulbs) as the black ones require genuine HID bulbs and the whole accompanying electrical system to work ($$$$$). If you want to know anything else about the car/engine let me know.

PS be careful when you say F20B because the SOHC VTEC and the DOHC VTEC (SiR) both have the same name. I still dont know why Honda didnt change the name (must have run out of letters  ). Make sure your gettting the DOHC VTEC version as i guess thats the one you want.

Also the tranny will bolt up to a Prelude or Accord. So im guessing all you would have to do is find a 97up Prelude auto tranny with ECU (not sure if you have the original F20B ECU) and it should bolt right up(not quite familar on the tranny swaps). I used a Accord/Prelude clutchmasters clutch and clutchmasters flywheel on my F20B and they bolted right up.

just curious,i was tossing around some idea's for beefing up my f22a6,almost to the point where i think a swap is the only way to go.just wondering about this f20b though, hadn't heard of it so far, only of the h22,3 swaps.what are the horsep and torque ratings?what did it come in and also, what are these accord SiR?didn't know there were accord r's and stuff, anyone tell me which years? and how to tell?

That is pretty cheap the cheapest one I have found was 1700 with the sport shift automatic transmission, I think it was actually cheaper with that paticular tranny. I also have never heard of an Accord r model, I have owned mine for about 5 years now and I have been looking to do a swap and I think the F20 is the way I am going to go just because everyone that has an accord that does a swap runs strait to an H22. I want a different route, I do want to know if anyone has had the f20 and if they have driven H22 powered accord to see how they would compair it? Also how hard is it to find internal engine coomponents for that paticular motor?

Excellent first post, idiot. This thread is 5 fucking years old. Next time, check the dates on stuff before you hit "reply"...
