Any ideas please? I'm looking to turbo this setup later on. I just want a strong motor with some power, I don't car about gas either.

How much money do you want to spend?

Drag race? Road course? Autocross?

Desired torque curve?

How much money do you want to spend?

:)

Read some of the articles in our reference section to get a start. Asking what the "best motor" is tends to create confusion- it's a really broad question with an unlimited number of correct answers.

with an unlimited budget, the answer to likely any of those questions (without worrying about any class-specific rule books) would probably be a k24/k20. but then you could just go buy a used SRT-4 or WRX. much like calesta says, you need to be more specific.

you coudl always keep it simple and boost the stock motor, power is power. why spend al that money on swap and turbo when you can just build what is there to eb strogn and take lots of boost. thats teh way ive always seen it. most peopel i know that go with motor swap just do it for braggin righst or just to show it off.

d16a6,swap a vtec head, port and polsih the head, aftermaret cam, stronger valve springs, upgrade to stronger rods, low comp, pistons, arp hardwear, oem honda gasts/bearings,chip.tune a p28,and some drag radials will have that car running quick but you will have to run the turbo now

x2 D-series have potential. You wouldn't have to worry about different motor mounts, axles, shift linkages, shit like that. You could probably run 13s with a turbo and what Injen said. And it would be pretty dam cheap too. What do you guys think, complete and driving for under $2500 with turbo and all.

11 seconds will be intresting to get to then you would be looking at a fully built d and alot of boost or a b series and a turbo on it as well

You could do it on a D.. but its going to cost you a fortune.

11 seconds is going to cost you a fortune anyway. If money is no object and you want to go fast in straight lines, build a solid k24 and boost the crap out of it.

pretty much anything can do whatever you want anymore, as long as you have enough money, some motors are just easier to obtain your goal with(not to mention cheaper without motor and swap costs), just figure out the time you want, how much you want to spend and start from there, id say a K if you have the money, it wont be hard to get 11 out of that but mainly cuz IMO they look sweet under the hood lol

with any high power motor cost always becomes a factor. any motor can be made stronger to handle lots of bost and its been done in plenty of d series motors. i agree with injen though, save the hastle and work with the d16. theres plenty of proof otu there that the d16 done right can be well worth it.

11's are gunna be hard even on a B-series. a guy i went to college with ran a k24 in his 93 hb and ran 11.4 with slicks and the 6 speed. but it cost him just over 6 grand to do the swap. it depends on how much money and time you have.
