2001 v6 accord

New Member
what can i do to make more horsepower and torque to my 01 v6 accord. i have cold air/full exhaust/pulleys/raised plenum 1/4 inch/5 ohm resistors before ETC sensor/v-tech controler/unichip system.so if anyone could help me i would appreciate greatly.

im not sure about that one, the best bang for the buck would be spray or boost

ive seen some nasty supercharged ones, id go down that path since they seem to be the most popular ones, if you dont wanna spend that kind of money id just go with spray like suggested

6 manual trans swap from acura cl-s would help a ton. The Honda auto trannies are geared for economy. Take the resistor out, its just making you run rich. Honda did a good job tuning the car, and yours is close to stock. Changing the vtec crossover point won't help you either.

i am spraying only 50 running the quarter at 99 mph and 14.5 quickest time so far trying to hit 13s.never seen an other v6 run down the track.do you know if 14.5 is even good for a v6?

my teacher at honda school told to try the resistors and it does make my car run rich and lack of power when cold but after car gets to operating temp it has a little more pep.what year trans should i go with, is it like honda 98-02 are the same?

That's not bad for that engine and chassis. It's nothing to brag about, but respectable nonetheless...

Running rich is never a good thing. Resistors are just hack mods. A real tune, even just a piggyback tune, would result in those same power gains without having to run rich. As for the trans, the year doesn't really matter. It just needs to be capable of bolting up the a J-series engine...

just go for boosting it...jackson racing makes a decent honda supercharger, and nectics for the turbo.......even with 8psi your going to haul ass and wont have to worry too much about your engine, as long as you dont beat on it everysingle time you drive...those engine are beasts for the get go. stay with that engine.....go for pistons, spray, camshafts, intake manifold, bigger throttle body stuff like that also

JR doesn't make a kit for the 6 cylinders. I believe comptech was the only company, and they are out of business now.

You are correct, sir!

Yeah, you might be able to find a used Comptech blower somewhere, but don't hold your breath...
