Sup guys, I was wondering what exactly I needed to do as far as swapping a D16Y7 into a CRX SI. I wanted to know if i'm able to completely strip away the intake manifold with injectors and all sensors (mainly coolant temp. sensor and fan switch) from the D16A6 and install it onto the D16Y7 motor. I am also going to be installing a CRX SI 5-speed tranny to replace the 4-speed the original owner had put on the car. And as far as wiring goes, I know that I needed to extend the wiring for the fan switch, but what elses needs to be done? Sorry for asking alot of questions but I'm new to the Honda scene but have been working on Toyota's more often. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Just put the D16A6 intake manifold on the D16Y8. It will bolt right up, I would recommend a new gasket though. You will have to replace the front motor mount by the timing belt for the D16A6 one. It will bolt up to the Si tranny fine.

Whats the reson for replacing the D16A6? The D16Y motors (D16Y7, D16Y8) spin bearings if you push them a lot due to bad oiling. A D16A6 will last longer than a D16Y motor if you push it regularly.

As for the fan switch just plain and simply lengthen the wires to reach. But the plugs are different. You will probably have to go to an auto wrecker and just cut it off with a bit of wire left. The plug is the same for 92-95 Civics aswell. Come to think of it 88-91 Civics have the same style plug too but for different applications.

I want to keep the d16a6 in the car but it leaks oil on both sides of the motor. IDK, maybe i'll take a look tomorrow on where the leaks are coming from. I just wanted know what other options I had since I have the d16y7 in my possesion.

Sound like the main seals. Take a look around, If it was my car I would def. keep the D16A6.
