November 1st, 2007 we picked up the GMC Savanna.

December 2007, the transmission gave out. Had it replaced with a 2500 dollar Jasper trans. Only had gears 3 and 4, on I69. Was able to drive it back to the shop.

December 2007, something in the new transmission gave out on I69. Had nothing. Tow #1.

July 2008, Fuel pump died in the construction on I69. Fun times. Tow #2.

November 4th, 2008, Something else died, probably the fucking fuel line or filter. It's cranking, but not firing. Tow #3.

How many more fucking times are we going to have to tow this piece of shit before my dad gets rid of it?

So now I'm truckless (we have my brothers truck but I have no supplies on it), and my brother can't drive.

I guess that's what I get for voting red.

Edit: maybe I should stay the fuck off I-69?

it's an american vehicle. 95% of them are like this after 50k miles.

but, don't worry. GM will be gone soon.

I wonder if I can convince my dad to buy me an auto sedan with a huge trunk to work out of.

Between August and November 07 I worked out of our company Crapolier coupe with no problems.

The way I work in my vehicles is I need access to different parts. I stack all my wire toward the back with a ladder along with larger supplies like mounting boards, hammer drill, etc, and I stack all my little supplies (jacks, plates, silver satin, system install supplies, etc) toward another door, and I generally put my tools (pouch and cordless) up front with me.

In a pickup I have one way to get everything out. It just won't work.

Ah, gotcha. So a van is really ideal, or maybe like a wagon of sorts with the back seats folded down?

yeah a four door car or wagon would be superb, decent gas mileage and the ability to haul shit still.

I'd love to try to find something like an auto Toyota Matrix, or Impreza 2.5RS Wagon. Doubt it'll happen and I'm stuck driving the worst piece of shit this company has ever seen.

I think they're hit or miss.

I was a warehouse manager for a large electrician company. All of our trucks for fords or chevy's. The chevy's had over 200k and ran like tops.

My dad has a 2500 hd with 100k on it and it runs like a top. His old business partner has a 1500 silverado with 320k on it and the original engine. Runs. not like a top. But runs. He tows a boat sometimes with it too. His commute is 120 miles round trip and it makes it.
