Im almost done my motor swap in my 98 civic hatch and getting ready for paint. I've been researching different civic trims to see if theres any original body convertions out there I might want to do before I paint. I came across a lot of different ones but cant find much info or spec sheets on them so I came to Honda swap for help. Im looking for some one who can tell me the full spec and maybe help me get a head start on where I might be able to find some of these parts. The difference in interar, exterior, jdm, edm, cdm, ect. Im looking to do a less common body convertion seen in the US. So im not really looking to do a ctr, sir, or jdm 2000 front end convertion. Examples: vi, vti, vi-rs, mi, vti-r, vti-s, vti-t, ect.

Any info is greatly aprecated
Thanks

Hmmm...I don't know how much help you're going to find here really, but good luck...

Hey i got a reccomendation for you.. not every one likes these but they are Original trims in japan One is from a wagon version of our 6th gen civic with the same body lines, the other is a differnt version of the civic sedan again the body lines line up if. This ones is a Domani front end conversion which i did.. i wanted to be different. They sold the domani in canada under the name Acura 1.6 EL. from 97 -2000

This second one is from the Honda Orthia Or honda partner the Partner was a work truck version of the orthia
this front end is on a EM1 (99-00 SI coupe)

The partner originally came with black housing headlights so some people perfer those this is what they look like

Some answers to the trim question.. The VTi was a vtec civic no spacific body type usually refering to the Varibal timing ignition (what VTI stands for) which on v tec models the ecu corrects the timing automatically in addition to the oil pressure activated cam rockers that lock in to place and follow the larger lobe on the vtec cams.. the Vi-RS was the JDM civic SI it came in coupe (rare) and the sedan which was most common. The Vi-RS looked identical to our 99-00 SI besides the fact that most came in 4 doors and had the Vi RS on the rear door.

I'm pretty sure the 99-00 Si coupe's chassis code is EM1. The EP3 code is for either the 02-05 Type R in Japan or the 02-05 Si hatch in the US...

riseagain97 where did you got the body parts?

I got them from a JDM Honda domani. Altho the canadian EL is identical. belive it or not in the US its easyer to get the Domani front than it is to find an EL in canada to borrow one from. in japan they just cut up cars and sell them after they are a cirtain age but they dont do that in canada. BUT NE WAYS both of those front ends can be found here
honda 96-00 civic ek used parts & fiberglass body kit Ull see that one of them has an Isuzu grill thats because the domani was also sold under the name Isuzu gemani. But u can pick what grilles u want i picked the honda one but they have the isuzu and the aftermarket blank one PM me if u have questions about installation and all that

your right my bad i have to manny chassi codes floating around in my head

well trims are just emblems and badges however the headlights and tail lights are the same shape so a CTR or SIR woulnt be any diff from a for SIR 96-98 civic front end cept for a lip, and the CTR is no diff from a 99-00 with a lip and smoked housing headlights.. That pic looks like an SIR with vtec badges.. i suppose im confused on what you want to do.. none of those trims involve any front end swap;.. just lip and diff headlights but thats DEF not diff. thats what most people go for.. The only VTI that i can see that you saw was the European VTI sedan which is a completley diff car its based of the Rover and the EG civic so that front end would be out. Vti-R would be a DOCH vtec but the rest .. may be having to do with what countrys there out of. So Bascially yur talking about badges which is easy to stick on but theres no actual body part swapping. The whole reason i did the domani front end is because very few people have done it and the DOmani only came in 4 door but all my parts were just bolt on

Sleeping with the enemy i see! Chevy cava in bg...

lol i dint make that decision lol i drive that when my cars down lol. We got it brand new (again not my choice) in 2002 i told them civic get a civic get a used civic but.. they thought the Chevy dealer ship was giving them a good deal cuz we used to be neighbors with one of the salesmen.... bs lol they finally relize it now but there not in any hurry to replace it. Oh well still runs
