i was wondwering wat are some cheap hp mods i could do tho my sohc vtec zc i got beat by an ek cause some how he got his car to reive to 8000rpms in a d16y8 i have headers test pipe and intake i cant spend past 500 bucks
 
dude, he won't be reving to 8000 rpms for long with his d16. thats not healthy at all. you don't have an exhaust? i'd start there.

no its d serise i put the motor in could his ecu b chiped cause its the right ex ecu. his car beat me by 1 car length

did you actually see his tach rev out to 8k??

but it could be anything really..

that motor doesnt make power that high. your friends motor doesnt like him.

haha yep pretty much agree entirely with all of thee above ^ lol. and being beat by 1 car length isn't much. but that all depends on whether you raced from a dig, and to what mph. or from a roll, covering what range of mph. you could race him again and beat him for all you know. unless of course you have raced him repeatedly and everything i've said is kinda null at this point lol.
 
You can buy a chip from ebay for $15 shipped that will eliminate or increase your rev limit to 8k+. With properly adjusted valves and a healthy motor, it will rev to 8k.

But not for too long. Motors have rev limits for a reason. If he keeps doing that to his motor with no other work to it, its going to puke up a rod or float/smash the valves.

As far as cheap upgrades: Ebay intake pipe with a K&N filter is usually good for 5-6hp.. A properly designed header, used with the intake can gain 10hp. But a good header is usually $300+.. I'd suggest DC for the best price/benefit. A free flowing exhaust, something like 1.75 inch tubing with a high flow cat and muffler are good for even more power.. After that, you're looking at spending some cash..

Best bang for the buck though, would have to be a B18a1 swap. $800ish if you shop around and do your own work.. Great hp and torque gains, makes a fun car even more fun. A b18c1 is better, but 3 times the price.
 
Id let him keep winning then save up do a GSR (b18c1) swap and stomp him.

im sticking with the single cam. i know alot of people that have dual cams and they get jacked. plus im still learning about my car. and its an auto so im trying to find a manual chasie
 
You can convert it to manual. Its really not that hard. All the holes are already there. You just gotta swap the tranny and install all the manual parts. Linkage, master/slave cylinder and clutch pedal.
 
Think before you write, and stop spreading misinformation. Yes, it can be done. Yes, you will have to fab up a few parts. No, all factory mounting points and "holes" are not there, you have to add several of them.
 
buy you a used nitrous kit for a quick cheap 50-75 hp that will get you to pull on him like 10 cars or more

Ok im sorry i have done auto to manual swaps on a 89 lude and a 93 accord. I thought all hondas had all the holes and mounting points there.

yes only the sohc are and not all sohc are. i was thinking about that but i have no clue how to drop the stairing coloum i was thinking of haveing some one do that for me but i dont know anyone who could do it in a day. i dont do nitrous to many of my friends have blown there motors
