My new DD

Unlike other people on HS I can actually make up my mind for a dd. Here it is: a 96' Maxima se 5 speed. The thing has 116k, is pretty much in mint condition, and the guy is asking $4k.

1996 Nissan Maxima SE 5 Speed - Low Miles

The car needs the e-brake cable fixed, and whether or not the a/c works is a question. The compressor can be heard running but I couldn't feel any cold air (was 50 degrees outside). I'm calling the guy tonight and making an offer. There's no way I'm paying 4k for the thing.

Done! I just bought it for $3500. I feel its a fair price considering its condition, and what they tend to go for around here. I'll be sure to get some pics up. The thing is such a boat compared to my hatch, and the shifter is nowhere as nice as a honda.

Yea you're right. They should be fine for winter wheels. I'm already looking for some oem nissan wheel for the summer.

Nice looking car. Re your other topic, you would've been far more happy with an E36.

You're right they are amazing cars. The goal was to get something I wouldn't be tempted to throw money at. I feel like an e36 would have become another project.

I looked hard for them, and all of the ones I found either had 150k+ miles or were low mileage m3's going for way too much.

the maxima is a nice choice... real comfy car, and a good drivers car. i think you will be happy with it. you can always seem to find nice maximas for cheap too, they are a good value.

i wish i still had my 6 speed 02 maxima se, that was a sweet ride....
