Hey guys/gals, I am Very new to this whole swap thing. I learned so much while just browsing around the forum. But I just can't get the right answers! I thought ill just post my questions here.
Okay, I'm planning to buy The B18C and swap it into my 90 Civic DX hatch. I am currently getting it from Hmotorsonline. (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30009) I was wondering would I need anything else? Or This is Everything that I need to swap it and get it running? If not, What else would I need to buy or do to make it run the way its suppose to run. I really want it running and not throw a CEL but If it throws a CEL and running, Thats better than no cranking at all. All I really want to know is that, Is this "Complete changeover" B18C is everything I need to get it running? Or I will have to alot more?

I would recommend contacting H-Motors and telling them exactly what you're wanting to do (swap a B18C into a 90 Civic DX) and they should be able to tell you what you'll need and probably provide it for you as well...

Your going to need...

Mounts for b-series to 88-91 civic
Cable to hydro conversion from hasport, you shoud get your mounts from them too.
Ecu jumper obd0 to obd1 jumper harness
You may need to get new spindles/hubs from a 90-93 integra
And you need to do a dpfi to mpfi conversion
And you'll have to make custom shifter linkage integra front half and civic rear half.

I think thats everything you'll need. I'm sure someone will chime in on what I've said.

If you call hasport I'm sure they'll tell you about the same thing.

You don't need to get different spindles. dx hubs work fine. only hf and std hubs don't work with da axles.

If you want to save money, and can get your hands on an integra linkage for cheap, then just cut 2 3/8" out of it and then weld it back together. or you can just purchase a b-series into ef linkage, then you don't have to fab anything.

also you'll need:

Integra axles
da manual intermediate shaft
rywire harness
da throttle cable
b18 cable trans vehicle speed sensor
da driver side engine mount
da rear trans bracket from manual trans

Id just buy the hasport shift linkage.. And theres quite a list of parts for this swap not to mention the mpfi wiring. Do you know anyone with any honda experience that could help at all?

Well I really don't know ppl with experience in swaps. So that's why I'm on here asking question b4 I do the swap. And where can I get the Ecu jumper obd0 to obd1 jumper harness?

This is me assuming that by b18c you mean the jdm gsr, not the jdm type r b18c.

you can use this here, only after you do the mpfi swap of course
Rywire - Online Store

or get this if you'd rather rywire do the mpfi conversion for you

thats my bad i forgot he had included the link up there. i just saw that he mentioned it was a b18c. It is an obd1 jdm gsr b18c. only the usdm is referred to as a b18c1, and type r as a b18c5 respectively. both the jdm gsr and type r only say b18c on the block itself. you have to look at either the headstamp or the numbers below b18c on the block to determine if its a gsr or type r. i believe if the sequence of numbers starts with a 1 its a gsr and if it starts with a 2 its a type r.

I dont think he mentioned he wanted to use either a cable or hydro trans for sure. since he has the link there for the engine with trans i am to assume he intends on using the gsr trans. he could however just get the jdm gsr longblock, minus the trans.

and then pick up an older cable ls trans for fairly cheap. its not a "complete swap" but you cant use half that extra shenanigans anyway. (i.e. gsr axles with halfshaft [need da parts], shift linkage[need b-series into ef linkage or hack out a piece of this], stock motor mounts [can't use them], and engine harness[don't need it] )

Well Which one is the better one? Which one would you guys recommended? And I'm sorry I wasn't being specific enough. I was going to order the B18C1. I really don't want to deal with the long block cause I don't want to forget to buy the things I need. So I rather just get the whole complete swap and get it over with. :D And at first I was going to use the B16A with the GSR motor. But then I thought it over and I said I'll just stick with the GSR tranny.
