need to know how to get my old rusted rotors of my accord. asked a couple of people but they wernt sure. some told me that all i have to do is take the caliper off and just bang the rotor till it comes loose. others told me i have to loosen the HUGH middle bolt with a breaker bar and then take it off??...anybody know off hand???

First take off the caliper. Then, there should be 2 screws that you'll have to remove. Be careful not to strip them out. Then just whack it with a hammer until it pops off.

DAMNIT WIL....yeah, two screws, might need a hand impact (ask if you dont know what it is) to get those screws loose. I know i needed it for the prelude. After that, if you arent going to get the rotors turned (meaning your buying new ones), then just spray some WD40 on the hub and wack a bitch with a hammer....but you might want some ear plugs when you do it.

+1 on the hand impact. Took 1/2 a can of PB Blaster and a hand impact + Sledge to get mine off. Be careful to not screw with the hub too much. Too much impact can damage the hub bearing, and putting a new one in is a pain in the ass.

some models of accords require the whole hub assembly be removed. i'm not sure if 92 is one of those years or not.... i think it was only on the newer models...

yep 92 Is one of the years that you need to seperate the whole fucking hub to remove the rotors
they fucking suck
you are not doing it at home on your own without fucking something up

if you do want to do it at home....
put the car in the air
remove the wheel
remove the caliper
remove the caliper mounting bracket
remove the entire steering knuckle and hub assembly
bring that over to your hydraulic press
press the hub apart
unbolt the rotor
bolt in the new rotor
re pack the bearing
press the hub back together
bolt the steering knuckle / hub assembly back up to the car
clean all the greasy shit off the rotor
bolt the caliper mounting bracket back on
install the new brake pads
press the caliper piston back in
bolt the caliper back on
**repeat for side #2

on a side note, you could use a large slide hammer instead of a hydraulic press... but it might take over an hour of slamming the slide to seperate the hub... might only take 5 throws... its kinda luck of the draw
then putting it back together with the slide hammer is sketchy
and there is always the risk of destroying the wheel bearing

i would recommend bringing it to the dealership
i wouldnt recommend the random brake/muffler shops unless you have to
and i WOULD NOT recommend trying to do this in your driveway

i think im gonna take ur advice on that!!.....i didnt know it would be that involved...im just gonna bring it to the shop cuz for one....i dont have a hydraulic press here at my house but my boys shop does but even so i really dont feel comfortable banging the shit out of my hub...and theres way too much at risk being broken but thanx anywayz fellaz.

In order to get off the rotors if its a 4 lug setup like mine you have to take the calipers off and there are 4 tough bolts in the outer plate. then u have to remove the spindle nut in the center and pull the wheel bearing. Id highly recommend that you take it somewhere unless you have alot of tools. You need to torque the wheel bearing down to 181 pounds.
