i have a 97 delsol si with a d16y8 that we put a d16z6 head on it... we put skunk2 high compression valves, valve spring, titanium retainers, and a blox stage 3 cam.

we got it all together and it seems to have less power then before. it seems really sluggish and it idles around 500rpm and dies every once in a while...

i was wondering if any would could help me figure out the problem

A) Of course, you ALWAYS need to tune after such a modification.

B) The cams you are using are WAY too aggressive for such a mild (read: near stock) state of tune. It requires a LOT more compression and breathing to use them properly.

well we did the whole head, blox intake manifold, b-series throttle body, header, msd, and cat back exhaust. but if we need to get it tuned then thats what we got to do

YES, YES, DEAR GOD, YES! Take it to a tuner NOW! Do NOT wait. If you do, your engine may go BOOM. That's putting it mildly.

Imagine taking all of the money you have spent on your engine, plus all of the work and time you have spent on it, and watched it blow up in your face, just to have to do it all over again. Tuner...NOW! Let us know how it turns out at the tuners. :D

haha...I already have both a Z6 and Y8 head. All I need is a stinkin' Y8 block! Forgive the slight thread jackage. :D

luis... i happen to have a z6 block in need of a complete over haul. what happened. i dunno. all i know is the bottem end is locked. sell it to ya cheap. lol 20 bucks you can have the block.

sorry for thread jacking. but luis never comes online much.
