I Feel Like Flying
Hello I just joined this forum and I'm looking to make more power out of my b18c GSR engine.

HP goals would maybe be around 200 I'm mainly trying to keep up with the K-series guys. This build would be N/A for a daily driving and track use. As for money wise, I don't really have a set price because I'll be taking my time buying piece by piece in a slow process. But it will still be a budget minded build.

Parts Already On:
Cheap short ram Intake
4-2-1 FGK Header
Full Magnaflow Exhaust
Blox Intake Manifold
Chipped p28
FYI:This Engine is in a EG Hatch.

Now which parts should I acquire next? I've searched but I'm not familiar with this search function from this forum.

200 N/A HP is going to take some serious internal work. High comp pistons, serious head work, very aggressive cams, so on and so forth. Honestly the N/A route really isnt worth it, its a really good way to spend $10k and only make 200 to the wheels. A low boost setup on a stock motor will easily give you the numbers you want but for way less, and be more reliable.

Byron is right. N/A is an expensive way to go fast, though, to quote Calesta "there is a beautiful simplicity to it". Were you to go the boost route you would be able to achieve your goal a lot easier and less expensive.

To me a header, intake and exhaust are just decoration pieces unless you have done some work to your engine. Sure they allow your engine to breathe easier, but in my opinion and remember, this is MY opinion only, don't do much but look pretty. Best of luck to you my friend.

Thanks guys, but I still would rather go N/A over boost. I know you gotta pay to play so I'll be saving money Lol. So 10K just for 200whp is really out of my budget, I guess I'm just looking to make some noticeable gains. What internal work so I start off with?

Lets start with what your budget is right now and we'll take it from there.

About now I'd say 3,000 but as the 1st post states I'll be piecing parts together so within time I'll have more money to spend.

EDIT: Oh and just so you guys don't think I'm making you do the homework. I'm also looking into other build threads for some tips/pointers.

I just used 200whp for $10k as an example that going all motor you spend a lot and only get a little. Higher comp pistons and some mild cams would give you a noticable gain to start off with.

*re-reads first post* I don't see a price on there so I MUST be on crack. haha

He's right again, except I would opt for not only higher compression pistons but also a good set of rods and a "stage 2 or 3" cam. That part is up to you in what you want to use in your build. I know a bit about boost and next to zilch on what cam would be best for n/a.

Awesome, I was leaning towards buying cams for my next purchase. I'll start looking into which would be good for my use. As for pistons I'll also look into my choices. Any recommendations?

no, N/A is the expensive way to go slow.

If i had a gsr and $3k to spend n/a.

1)smsp header
2)carbon intake
3)full exhaust
4)ITR pistons
5)ITR cams
6)tune, tune, tune

should put you around 185-190hp. good tq numbers
