Im looking to upgrade my crx from a sohc vtec its just not enough. so ive laid out a few options but im not sure. I need to know what would be the best bang for my buck?
-B16
-LS/VTEC
-B20/VTEC

i need answers from people who have knowlege not people who are just gunna critisize!!
 
well you could always turbo what you have and spank those others for about 1400 bucks
 
you how any idea how much a b20/vtec would cost, or how much work it would be?
 
well yeah i could build my d-seires ive seen em done but my bro has a stock b16a2 in his hatch and i love the agressiveness of a b-series, and im kinda on a low budget (about 2k)
 
A GSR for two grand though? Eh, that's pushing it I would think. He could look around, get lucky and MAYBE find one for that price I would think.

yeah ive heard the torque on ls/vtec and b20/vtec are outragious but i think thats out my price range if i wanted to do it right, so i think i might just go with a b16, or gsr and just start getting bolt on slowely, ive never drove a gsr HOW IS IT COMPARED TO A B16 IN A CRX
 
Yeah im not gunna do Ls/vtec or B20/vtec, im leaning towards a complete b16 or gsr becuase i dont have to hastle with the build and no problems and from what im hearing way cheaper than and ls or b20 vtec, i would like to get a type-r but thats way out of my price range, all i need to know now is how a GSR COMPARES TO A B16 IN A HATCH IVE NEVER DROVE OR SEEN A CRX WITH A GSR IN IT?
 
im not sure on that one, i started with the h22a lol, but think about it more torque and hp out of the box so im guessing the b18c/gsr would be lots better. and i have friends that have tons of bolt ons and still only put down 150hp and 105 torque and thats on a good tune with a b16a
 
yeah i appreciate the the help i mean i can get a ls or b20 block for free and some people were telling me to just do a ls or b20 vtec because there monster but i figured they would be alot of money. so i think i would be able to get a B16a2 or a GSR and then mabye turbo it int he future and still be faster than a LS/vtec or B20/vtec and about the same if not less money, cuz ive heard that to do an ls or b20 vtec the right way its alot of money
 
dont get me wrong my single cam was pretty fast it was making 225 on 10psi when it was boosted but wen i drive my brothers b-series its so much more agressive and i think would have more potential then a single cam

How much did u do at the track? N What mods did u have in it?? Sorry i know this is off topic but i have a single cam boost and i was wondering what mods u had. I Made 172hp wit 8psi but i know i could've done more with an external wastegate and a 3" downpipe. At the track i did 13.8 with the clutch slipping and as soon as i put a new clutch in i did 14.3 my tires were burning out like crazy :wallbash:
 
Never took it to the track and actually is was bone stock, i had 3in down pipe and piping with and external wastegate, the only thing i had was a stage 2 turbo cam, i have a D16Z6 OBD1 in a CRX
 
If you liked the B16 and the aggressiveness then get the B16, cheapest of the B swaps.

The only thing mine has is a cometic headgasket and arp head studs other then the turbo kit its completely stock. Oh and the 3" piping i have done. Just neet the down pipe
