Up for you consideration is my 1971 Datsun 240Z. This is the Z car that started it all. If you want a classic car without melting into the crowd, this is a great place to start.
For those unfamiliar with Datsun Z's, Datsun is the car company that became what is now known as Nissan. This is the grandfather Z that layed the foundation for what eventually became known as today's Nissan 350Z. That lineage is comprised primarily of the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, and 350Z and of course a couple sub models along the way.
Z cars of every generation, especially the original 240z, have a huge cult-like following and for good reason, because in my humble opinion, it is one of the better looking cars to exist in the 1970's
I bought this particular Z approximately a year and a half ago with the intention of stripping it down and building a truly enviable classic car. Unfortunately, time to do so has evaded me and now, I'm experiencing some financial turmoil that is forcing me to give up my aspirations (for now atleast).
The car runs incredibly well and will make a great restoration candidate. As you can see from the attached photos, the car is in pretty decent cosmetic condition for an un-restored 38 year old car. It does however need some work depending on your objectives. The car starts and runs amazingly well. The clutch master and/or slave cylinders went out a while back, and I replaced both with brand new units a few weeks ago, but they're not creating enough pressure to disengage the clutch and allow shifting. So technically, the car isn't drivable, but anybody with some mechanical know-how and a half a day to kill could easily get it driving and could probably do so with virtually no monetary investment since both cylinders are new. In fact, it's probably just a matter of bleeding air out of the system. I may be able to get it shifting before it sells, but for all intents and purposes, it currently doesn't drive.
For those of you that share an interest comparable to my own, my intent was to do a 350CI V8 swap. There is some speculation that this car was originally intended to come with a V8 in it due to how well one fits in the engine bay of this car. If you have the same objective, I will include what is considered the bible of instruction guides that lays out the steps to complete this conversion.
I'm going to assume that most people viewing this listing are familiar with the Z, so I'm not going to bore you with much more description, but I have included some pictures and a video to help you make a decision. I will happily answer any questions you may have or provide additional photos, so please don't hesitate to ask.

I paid $2500 a year and a half ago and the car is in the exact same shape it was then except now it has the new clutch cylinders. Therefore, I'm asking in the ballpark of $2500. However, cash talks, and I'm willing to negotiate WITHIN REASON. Before you consider low-balling me, please keep in mind that a rust free original 240Z will cost you in the ballpark of $8k
The sooner a legitimate offer comes in the more willing I will be to negotiate on the price. Treat me with respect and I'll do the same to you.
