Kids these days...
I installed a camber kit on my 1990 civic hatch, and they seemed to go on well, but my passenger front wheel well is sitting at a higher level than it used to be. I have cut springs, and all the other tires are just the same hight as before I installed the kit. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? Or any ideas on what it might be? Thanks

honestly most people dont cut there springs. Its dangerous. when you cut your springs you are taking tension out of the spring. making it ware out really fast. If you cut the stock springs to significantly lower the car, it will handle poorly. The spring rate will be increased when the spring is shortened. Now you're expecting a soft spring to absorb the weight of the car in a shorter distance, which it wasn't designed to do. The suspension becomes more likely to hit the bump stops.

The struts and shocks aren't valved for shorter springs, so they will wear out faster with cut springs. Also, they are designed to contain the spring travel within a certain distance, so they will be more like to allow the suspension to bottom out.

i actually just saw an episode of over hauling the other day and they were working on an old boss 302 mustang and they actually cut some of the spring out. kinda had me scratching my head as to why though

yeah i saw that to...i couldnt believe they would do that on tv and give the idea to someone else....its a big tv show they could easily afford to buy new springs

Well I have been driving on cut springs for months now. I know the reprocutions and effects it has on the car. They are all cut to the same hieght and before the camber kit was installed...the car sat level. Now that I have put the camber kit on, the passenger side is more elevated. It has to do with something with installing the kit...because it was fine before. (or as fine as cut springs can be.)

I don't know why installing a camber kit would have anything to do with the ride height. My only idea would be that one of the springs shifted around inside the shock perch, and is now sitting at a slightly different point then the other side is...

Id have to go with Brutal on this. Did you shave the spring down flat on both ends and make sure it was seated correctly after you cut your springs?

Yes, I did shave the top and bottom of the springs so they will sit flat in the strut. I will jack the car back up and check to see if they are sitting correctly.

The problem was that one of the front pieces needed to be switched to the other side. They are slightly different, and it pushed my contorl arm into my wheel well and was stuck there. It was not holding the side up like I thought, it was holding the stuck side down.
