thanks man have u heard one of there exhuasts in person? i just dont want the typical ricer high pitched shit
Yes, they use very well sized/places resonators. These are ANTI-rice. They not only look like non ricr exhausts but they dont sound like them either. I've heard 2 in person. One is my my friend's KA24-T S14 240SX. Built internaled, stock block 2.4l engine, T3/T4 turbo, 3" divorced DP, and Thermal R&D "stealth" MUFFLER & resonator. Custom 3" piping, including 3" test pipe. All made in a stahndard muffler shop. it sounds AWESOME, and the exahust is super low key (e.g. the "stealth" part). The second version is a complete Thermal "turbo" 3" cat-back echaust on my friends LS/VTEC (1.8l) turbo EG Civic Coupe. No cat, again, or extra resonators. It flows VERY well (hits 18psi BY 2900 rpm with an HKS GT28RS turbo), and is near stock quiet until he hit ~ WOT. Again, it doesnt look ricey (he did paint EVERYTHING flat black before installing it thoug for thr sleeper look), and there is NO way to tell the kind of power he is making until he lets loost on the gas.
As far quality, these are top notch. The welds were VERY well done, and the material is very high end quality. You cant beat the wuality and build for the cost of these units.
Bottom line though, on turbo motors there is no "ricer" rasp or "pissed off bees in a coffee can" sound at ANY point in the RPM band, and they dont have an annoying drone while daily driving at low RPM nor is it loud until you get on the gas big time.
The only thing I've heard which is even close to this is a custom exhaust on a turbo B20/VTEC engine in an EM1 Coupe. He has 3" mandrel bent custom exhaust pipe made form mid-steel, mated to a 2 foot resonator and a Mugen "twin loop" muffler (sot sure if it was real Mugen or a knock-off). All of which, BTW, cost more then a complete 3" Thermal R&D Turbo-back exhaust, if it was a true Mugen can.
