Ok im not the smartest idiot on the planet but heres my question, I put a swap in my car and started it everything seems fine until i try to drive it then it boggs out. when I first finished i had it on stands and went through the gears (just to check the new clutch) and everything seems fine, of course its a little off needing a tune but why is it that when I put it on the ground it doesnt go? Is this still tuning or what am I missing? By the way it will be getting tuned, just curious if any one else has had similar experiance...

what swap into which car may be helpful for us to know.

are you getting ay CEL's would help also.

that being said, as a complete guess I would say to clean/check your IACV

2000 honda si :
gsr block with si head. it also has hondata, i know it needs a tune, but my question is basicly why does it seem to be running fine on stands but the second it touches pavement, nothing? i see these videos of people just throwing the motors in and taking their car for a cruise. Oh yeah and thanks for the reply guys...

Clutch slippage?
Valve lash?

It sounds to me like once it has to apply real force(I use real force, because on stands there is no resistance on its rotation) then it starts to bog.

But thats just my 2cents!

what do you mean by valve lash, and what part of utah you from? I need to find a reliable hondata tuner around slc area, know anybody?

Do you mean it runs fine until you like hit the gas pedal? Like if you just start it while it is parked it runs fine until you actually try go? Did you just replace the timing belt? I had a car that did almost the same thing, started and ran fine at idle, but as soon as you applied gas it would bog.

Turned out that one of the cam gears, I can't remember which one at the moment, was off by one tooth. Fixed that and it ran like a champ.

if its in nuetral it idles fine revs ok even on stands iput it in gear let out the clutch and everything seems fine. as soon as i took it off the stands and put in gear it leat out the clutch, i would say around 1500--2000 rpm's it just boggs.

sounds like timing. Runs fine at an idle but bogs on a load. Check sparks, timing in your belt and on your dizzy. Make sure your fuel pressure is right. does your Si head have vtec. Make sure your ecu isnt engaging vtec too early. That can cause possible bogging. Really no one can answer this question for you with the small amount of info you have given us. Your going to have to pull out a book and check everything making sure your engine is right.

im going to check all of these things today and i will get back.and yes its vtec. Im going to try and make a short video just to show you guys, but first i have to go stuff my face..
