axle problems-b16 into a 91 hatch

i swapped a b16a into my 91 hatch and i am about to put in the axles and noticed they have tone rings on them. so i call autozone and got the part number for the axles on a 90 integra and they do not match, the 90 integra part number was 8000 or 8001 and the axles i have are 8005. 94 and up integras use 8006 so if someone could help me out that would be great.

wtf are tone rings? are you referring to the abs rings? which trans did you use? if you have anything but the 4spd std model hatch the axles from 90-93 integras w/o abs will fit. just remove the inner dust ring from your steering knuckles

If you an hf or std chassis then you will need Si,Dx, or Da spindles. Then you'll need 90-93 manual integra axles. abs or non-abs doesn't matter. the abs ring doesn't affect anything. the dimensions of the axle does not change between abs/non-abs axles. on the passenger side you can use 94+ teg axles as well. they can be from any chassis trim. abs, non-abs, manual, auto trans; they all work.

I used ABS axles on my 91 swap. They both the same non abs dont have the sensor rings. I took mine off....no problems.

When doing your swap remember to use the drivers side axle that goes with the intermidiate shaft you decide to use. You can use any LS shaft in a civic 90-2000, but you must use the matching drivers axle with it. The passenger side doesnt make a difference. Another thing is the auto b-series and the manual intermidiate shafts are designed totally different and cannot be mis-matched. I recently had a highly reputable local Tuner/Racer tell me they were the same and that shouldnt matter. Last time I stopped in there.

Manual shaft SK7-J Auto shaft SK7-N

Be careful and know what youre buying when doing your swaps.....

wish i had that info before i picked up my int. shaft......i indeed got an auto and was like wtf lol

its the j1 tranny and im not sure what axles they are i think they maybe 92 gsr axles, the front hubs are off an 90 integra, they are new axles, they are both the same part number, are the axles the same lenght for the left and right side? i was also told that the 94 and up integra axles were a different but im not to sure on that, the axle splines into the tranny on the passenger side but looked alittle long and tone rings are for the abs pick up

yea they both should be the same length. you need the axles to match the int. shaft. do this and youll have no problems

will the 92 gsr be the same as the 90-93 integra, i think thats what the axles are for, the axles will not bolt up to the int. shaft if they are different right? and is there anything else that i should be aware of with axles issues? thanks for all the help

as long as you get the axles that match the shaft you will have no problems

in the next few days im gonna see if the axle fits into the int. shaft. as long as it lines with the int. shaft i should be good right? thanks for all the help

thanks i matched them up to a 91 ls and it looks like the same length, how much of a difference is the 90-93 to the 94-01? can you notice the difference easily?

90-00 Ls passenger side axles are the same, the drivers side must be matched with the intermediate(jack) shaft used..

90-93 Jack shaft(female end)...use the 90-93 drivers side axle
94-00 Jack shaft(male end)...use the 94-00 drivers side axle

Either jack shaft can be used on any B series block, year doesnt matter, but you must match the drivers side axle up with the jack shaft used.

thanks for all the help, i got the axles in tonight so im getting closer to completing my build hopefully it goes smooth from here

Seems like a good place to piggyback this question.
Do the trans from a b18 and b16 use the same axles and intermediate axles?

b18 and b16 are same axle wise. whatever year the int. shaft is you use those axles. an int. shaft from an auto will not work on a manual trans. it wont bolt up right

sweet. I just found out the ls trans I'm planning to use has a humm in 5th. I know I can pick up axles rebuilt but have to junkyard a midaxle. I found one from a ls one the local craigslist real cheap.
