JDM- Project Eg6
Alright i'm swapping a 1994 gsr odo1 engine into my eg which has a d15b, So it should be plug and play right since there both obo1? I just have some main ?'s like do i need the gsr shift lankage or could i use the one i already have.? i wanted to know to if the stock manifold will fit while doing the swap and if i could use the stock gsr motor mounts in my eg???? Because i was thinking i needed and blox or sk2 manifold to make it all fit. I'm about to take out the stock manifold spacer i heard its a hp gain not to sure tho. thanks guys

you need a b-series into eg-chassis linkage. neither the civic linkage,n or the gsr linkage will work. the stock d-series manifold will not work, and you can;t use the stock gsr mounts. you need b-series into eg mounts. manifold spacers are worthless.

Nah, i didn't want to use my d15b manifold. but thanks anyways but yeah i finished the swap by myself without any problems and yeah i did use all the stock gsr mounts they worked great. i just need to fix the shitfh lankage. And i'm all good to fire her up! what are some good street cams?

yea iwas gonna say u can use the stock gsr mounts. thats wat i did with mine before i bought hasport.

Thanks guys it all worked out great. my swap is done. I ate a superchanged buick, gtp, and a rsx type s. it's a stock b18c1 chiped ecu shifting at 9200 with a intake. it pulls hard. you think it would pull harder with lsd?

You could have done a k20Z swap, or you could just boost the gsr! I have done both the gsr and the K20 in a eg. the K pulls 10 times harder.

Just boost the gsr

Is your engine stock? If so, then I'd quit revving it to 9200. You're going to break something. Plus, if you don't have after-market cams, then it's pointless to rev that high. The engine will have already peaked out before you hit the red-line anyway...

NO cams, NOTHING!!! Well i have some stage1 cams but i havn't put them in yet? i think i already broke something. hahaha i could hear the valives ticking and alittle knock. not sure what the knock is coming from. i let a friend drive it and he misshifted.. waiting untiil he get home so i could whip his ass cuz now i could hear a little knock and i just started my car to go to the store. but fuck it i'll just get a new one.

im doing the same exact swap but i plan on puttin a flywheel, cams, intake, clutch, intake manifold and shit before the motor goes in if i am able to

Yeah that little knock is from the rod cap bolts getting stretched out from reving that high. That motor is on its way out.

It's funny because, i just put in the swap on sunday and ran about only 6 races and about 3 of them at 9200. others at 8200 and the motor has low miles pretty much brand new. But i dont really care i like swapping motors i'll just put in a new one in like 3 ahalf hours. no worries. i just converted a 2000 auto ex into a si. tranny/motor/shift lankage, ecu and wiring harrness. only had problems with the wiring of the safety nurtal swtich. but i fixed it so its all good. damn i did 2 swaps that day i was working on both cars it was crazy. anyways you think it should still be good if i shift @ 8200 because you can bearly hear the knock unless your a dumbass like me and put your head on the motor when its hot and running like a hardcore street racer. hahahaha

Run it til it blows. Man, must be nice to have all the money to run 6 times and say h well I will just buy a new one. Sounds like it was something wrong with that motor to begin with. Even though you over revved like a champ.

If you have that much money and time and up for the challenge, why don't you just do the Kswap?

Spining that motor that high one time is enough to do damage to it.

A) 6 races is far less than a fully, wildly built motor can see. If your getting issues already, the driver sucks, or the engine was on its way out already, or even a combination of both.
B) Low miles/pretty much brand new - not at all if you don't know exactly how it was drivin before you bought it.
C) Your not at all the first to do that swap. Guess what, I have a 2000 EX with a B in it too. Not that special. I hope you went OBD1 so you can rightfully tune it (like me)...
D) Ohhhh hardcore street racer... No try a general engine mechanic. You should be doing things like that. Proper maintenance and attention will keep things from exploding.

You have wild misconceptions of automotive practice. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
