Hey guys. Im brand new to this forum but not new to forums so please dont treat me like a newbie. I recently bought a 92 civic hatch from a friend of a friend. Gas prices were too high for my T/A. From what I gather it has a B18c1 with a 00 Si tranny. Its got a whole bunch of other bells and whistles but for the most part this could be called a GSR swap rite? Anyways my question is the head has the stampings 99 PR3-3. I did some homework and found out this is a B16 head and could be aTypeR head correct? I read that if it was a TypeR it would have dual valve springs. Problem is I cant see in there. I see the springs but cant see if theres another smaller one in the middle there. I dont see the green mark either. Can you tell by the cams without a micrometer? I posted this in the wrong thread earlier. sorry. Any help would be appreciated.

probably a b16 head from a 00 civic si. type r head has green paint on it.

some people build a poor mans type r using a b16 head on a gsr block.

Just picked up the head from the machine shop to have it shaved before I replace the head gasket and the guy there told me its a B16a head with what he thinks are typeR cams. Thats good I guess rite?

As good as any.

You tell by markings on the end of the cam where the dizzy goes in at, but I cant remember what they look like or where I found the info. Ill try to find it for you.

I posted pics a WHILE back on here when I swapped my cams, but can't find them :(

Theres markings on the end of the cams. They look hand engraved. CR/ 253-0012E and 253-27-05 if thats any help.

cams can be swapped.. cant tell from that.... if it were a type r head it'd have a factory port job

:werd: Only difference between a Type-R and a regular B16 is dual valve springs more aggresive cams and a factory P&P job.
