hey whats up i recently just put a used turbo kit from my cousin on to my d16y5 ek HX..The car smokes liike crazy i mean crazy!!! but only on idle,when i drive it seems to go away a bit but its still kind of there,its a greddy t3/4 turbo..when i stop at the light it starts clouding up,i dont know if it can be form a blown turbo or O-ring because i took off the clamp in between the turbo and exhaust side of turbo and there was no O-ring,think its just that or it dont take one there,aslo can it be from no oil getting to the turbine since the braided line is pinched a little and my car is leaking oil up the ass through the back where the T fiting is at.

ANY HELP POSSIBLE WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED

Fix the oil leak. Do not drive car till this is done.

Umm, I'm guessing the turbo has shot seals from what you're describing. Did the car smoke before? Did it instantly start smoking when you put the turbo on?
 
Hey yesterday it was still smoking a bit but not as bad as the first time i put it on,when i first put it on id didnt smoke until i got back from the first run,on idle it smoked,yesterday it barely smoked,maybey it had to be broken in?
And before i put the turbo it never smoked,it was a clean stock car



I think i just fucked the turbo last night,my babies mom made me go pick her up in Garden grove amd had to go get her,when i was coming back all my oil was gone,oil sign was flashing on fwy exit,got home and the turbo didnt want to wind up anymoore,it was making this scratchy noise as if it didnt have oil,i bought oil today in the morning and i drove it to see if it would go awaya and no its still doesnt wind up.

That drip is leaking your oil, and the turbo probably stopped smoking because the oil was running out of the oil line instead of into the turbo. No oil in the turbo = fucked bearings which will cause the hesitation to spin.

What kind of turbo is this?
 
i just sealed everything off and no leaks,Its a greddy t3/t4 turbo,i opened it earlier today by taking off the clamp from the turbo and turbo exhaust side,it opened in two pieces and noticed the turbine in the inside was off,the bolt that holds the outer turbine and the inner turbine broke so the inner turbine was loose inside the turbo.

Well what should i do?
can i just unscrew the nut in the front and slide the bolt out and get a new one?
or does that mean i got a busted turbo that has no use?
or i need to get it rebuilt?

Its kind of difficult to understand what you're sayin here, I mean you wrote it clear enough but it is just somewhat difficult to visualize ya know? If there's any way you could post a picture of the whole turbo itself then the portion that is broken I can give you an idea of what you should do..
 
well i took off the clamp rom the center housing between the compressor housing and turbine housing..and the Turbine wheel as seen in number 3 was loose inside the turbine housing,the bolt that holds the turbine wheel with the compressor wheel broke so the turbine wheel was just hanging in there thats why is was making scratchy sounds when i drove it to the garage.

Can this be fixed easily??

You're basically going to need a new core. You can re use the housings, but if that bolt is broke off, its going to be extremely difficult to replace without replacing the core.
 
A new one is going to be really expensive. You're probably better off buying a used or reconditioned unit.
 
since the turbine housing shell is good,what can i fit on that??

would a t25 fit?

i have an extra t25 but i dont have the manifold or the elbow to it so its going to be hard to get this running,any chance i can make the greddy header mani fit on there?
 
It's a t3/t4 right? I'd just pick up a t3 core. Can be had off of a Saab or such for pretty cheap. Maybe just send it to Garrett and see what they recommend?

so the core is just the inside of the turbo? turbine wheeel to the inner wheel?
