well i have been saving my money ever since i made a profit from selling that hatch i bought awhile back. I have about 2k in cash and taking out a small loan. I was looking at something in the 6k range until i saw some nice jdm type boosted integra's. So uped my budget and kept saving saving.

i have been coming across cools cars but nothing solid. The best i have seen is a Kswapped hatch for $5,800. It's a good deal but the s2k speedo doesnt work, gutted interior and i really dont want to make payments on an old car thats more race than comfort.

well i came across this car and while it'sTOTALLY what i wasnt looking for its the best deal i have seen. it costs $3900 cash. Its a 98 with 92,000 miles. great paint. I get 2k cash and ask for another $1,500 from the bank. I sell my truck for no less than $1,500 and pay the loan off in less than 2 months.

what do you guys think? I'm going to look at it today.

1998 Camaro Z28 LS1 YOU PAY IT OFF YOU TAKE IT HOME

It is an LS1. nice and clean and would be paid for within a few. These are going for a little over 4k with more miles.at least from what i have found.

Possible boosted LS1 in the future?

its the only nice car that i can have paid off. its a got a good motor AND gets better gas mileage than my truck now.plus gas has gone down enough to where it wont hurt. I used to put 60 bucks a week in my truck because it was that bad on gas.

hey blondie owns a honda. I'm still in it.

meh, buy an civic vx. put some rims on it and drop it a couple inches and call it a day.

save your money for the lawyer bs.

i cant even buy one of those! they all suck here in tally. they are either beat up and shitty or semi ok and they want 2500 or 3 for it.

i wanted a nice clean crx and swap a b16 or so in it. i could do that for 2k. But..
1) it would take time finding not only the car but motor
2)still be an old pos with no power options ( not really what i want for a daily communte anymore)
3) I WILL BE MESSING WITH IT again like i did the other crx's. Its hard for me not to fall into the money pit after i start modifying here and there. i learned my lesson after the first LSV daily driver.

i will gewt another crx toy but not now. i need to find a vehicle that is comfy, reliable and nice for cheap. If you all can find something this new this cheap LMK.

eh, i just don't think it's worth it to go in debt for a car that cheap. if it's only $1500 loan, just wait a little while. if you have a truck and the wife has a car, no need to go in debt for a 3rd vehicle. just my .02 though.

i wont. i 'm getting rid of the truck for $1500 and i have 2k in cash that i have been saving for a car. the loan is to buy me time to sell the truck. The truck is just old and worn out no matter how good it looks. and it does look good.:)

if you want something fun, get yourself an older 240sx. drift that bad boy. i dont' think many here are fond of that camaro.

getting financing on something older than 2002 is not going to be easy (read: stupid interest), especially with the credit crunch we're in.

3 grand... buy your self a 318ti like i did. fun freakin car. i'm loving it. it's a little on the slow side (~ teg LS territory) but its rwd and still a hatch, not a 240, and its fun :) only thing i don't like about it is that it needs a 6th gear. tachs out to 4500 at 80-85 mph :(

They rattle and clunk and clank and fall apart. That generation camaro (among others) is just a crappy, poorly assembled car. Great idea. Great motor. Poor execution.

I always check out what people are paying for the vehicles I own and I've found a lot of good deals on 96-00 Civic LX's. I have a 2000 model and it's a really nice DD imo. The fact that they're non-vtec and 4 door scares away the stereotypical honda owners, so they're mostly adult and/or female driven. Engine is easy and cheap to rebuild/replace. I was honestly thinking about buying a 96 or 97 with close to 100,xxx miles and in great condition for 1,500ish and selling mine. Times are rough, people are taking what they can get. Then again, the further south you go in FL, the more hondas there are. West Palm/Miami is a much further drive for you.

After seeing the pics you put up, I considered for a minute looking around for one, but I'd imagine maintenance would be pretty expensive on any bmw.

common misconecption more than anything...

the labor rate at bmw is $95. Most other places it's $80. so, you're looking at $15 an hour extra for work...
parts are pretty cheap for the m42/m44 engines.

price some things out...

oem front rotors, $55

it's really on par to a civic si

well i didnt see it today. Going tomorrow. I'm looking and wanting a nice since thats the only body style in those years that look new and are comfy compared to the civics. If i were to get a civic it would have to be an ek 2 door si clone or real si. Tampa area is the only are i have come across some nice ones. They are more than $3,900 though. A nice clean one goes for at least 6k with goodies and lo miles.I have been checking Tamparacing forum religiously to see if i cn catch a good one for a cheap price.

I just dont want to wait any longer. I feel the truck is wasting more money than it should with gas. I want to get a loan but nicole wants to save up at least another 3k before asking for it.:(

its nothing for sure but i would like to at least look at it.

B how did you find yours and how much should i pay for one?
