Crazy Speedometer

My Speedometer is going crazy it starts moving sporadically if i rev past four grand
or when ive been driving for a while it will drop to zero than it will jump back to actual speed and will consistently keep doing this

its a bad vss, or gauge or the alternator is going out or the fuse for it

I had a similar problem, it was snow and ice built up inside my stock stealy rims, once I cleaned them off in such it worked grate for a couple weeks haha!

im not slowing down and speeding up it started when i was going down the highway the reason i had it revved up was cause i wonted to see if it was going to do it when im sitten it neutral.................i dont get snow but i do think its a connection cause if i try as hard as i can to shake my dash it does move

My speedo in my EG does it every now and then, youll just be driving and itll drop to zero and then bounce back up. I would have to say its your VSS taking a crap.

is there a lil hiccup in the engine when your rpms get all crazy? - not really very noticeable, but just a slight disruption in the normal sound/power?

if so - this sounds just like when my ignition module in the distributor went bad. you could check that.

are you running a stock ecu? because mine did that when a ran the obd2b ecu on my 99' b16a. the right ecu solved the prob for me.

pulled the cluster apart and sure enough a connection was barely hanging on hooked it back up and bam it works
