The engine you bought won't bolt up to the transmission that's in the car. You should have researched this before you started buying stuff...

v6 swap

my car is a 2001 honda accord 4 cyl 2 door the only reason i bought the motor is because i got the whole front end for $500 including trans and everything the motor only has 50,000 miles on it im wondering if my manual transmission will work in the car even if it doesnt work ill sell the motor and trans im just wondering if it will work or if i can make it work

Your existing transmission WON'T bolt up. It just won't. Not gonna happen. Your only option here would be to find a manual six-speed from a V6 Acura, the CL I believe. That's the only gearbox that's going to work, because it was designed for a J-series V6 (which is what you have)...

considering this is in the accord section. Im guessing he owns a 01 accord.

Its only a guess though :D

Im curious. Whats his existing engine in his car now?

Of course his 4 cyl tranny wont bolt up to that v6 but i think what he's asking is will the V6 manual trans that fits the v6 engine will actually fit in his car. most likely with out hasport mounts.

of course its possible its the same engine bay as the v6 but my engine now is 2.3 liter 4 cyl vtec 5 speed manual its really slow so it will work just get the cl tranny? i wanna keep it manual the transmission on the motor is automatic thanks for your reply guy

There was no manual transmission available for the 98-02 Accord V6. Like I said, the only option would be to use a transmission from the Acura CL since it also used a J-series engine...

hey do u think its worth putting that engine in there or should i just go with the h22?

That's a toss-up. There's a lot more after-market support for the H22, but the V6 will probably outrun it stock for stock...it's got more torque...
