i got the b16 in my 91 dx hatch ready to go. im having problems fittin the eg half rad in the ef chassis. ive found many threads on the subject but none helpful. they all say lean it...make brackets and such but not really specific. i was looking into getting the etd traction bar as i hear this allows enuff clearance for the half rad. im also havin trouble with the hasport hydro trans kit gettin in the way of my lower radiator hose!! dammit anyone have any tips to get it to fit?

Why not get a full size radiator? You can probably find a dual core radiator and put that in.

that was the plan originally. i had it running and the b series rad hoses are bigger than the ones on the ef of course. the hoses leaked even after tightening down some clamps pretty damn tight so im tryin the half rad. would a radiator from a 90 teg work maybe? ive heard its a lil tall but im hopin the traction bar will fix that maybe

I have a EG half radiator in my EF, but I had to hack and beat the hell out of my crossmember. Buy a stock radiator for your car and use D-series hoses, and stretch them over the B-series water necks or go with a traction bar and make your own brackets.

im running a 90 teggy rad.
it is slightly taller, mine hit a little on the front right coner of the VC and theres a flat spot on the top of the rad. just pound the two spots on the hood where it hits,

hmmm havent tried to use the d series hoses...is it very hard to get em on? and with the hydro linkage shit gettin in the way i think im gonna get the new hasport clutch master cylinder adapter..ever seen one installed?

The D-series hoses arent that much smaller than the B-series water necks. Just put a little grease on the inside of the hose and it should go on pretty easy.

I just retained the stock ed radiator and used the b-series hoses. they're a little bigger but just tighten them down snug and it will be fine. thats what i did, and they haven't leaked to this day.

i tried that tho.. they leaked as soon as the engine was hot enough to build pressure in the radiator...hmm i know one thing that conversion lever for the clutch has got to go, it sucks bigtime

Putting a EG radiator in a 4g Civic is just a "hack job" itself; it just doesn't fit.

The ETD bracket just tilts the crap out of it; so it's very very close to the transmission(probably can't use a stock radiator fan). I know this because I had the ETD bar, and honestly don't really recommend it. Avid, Innovative, ESP(what I have now; I had the Avid and ETD before though), are better options but do not offer EG rad support. Not sure about the Full-Race but their bars are also nice with more clearance.

Something else I've heard of people doing is using a Neon radiator(it's off a specific one IIRC though). It's about the size of the EG radiator but shorter. The only thing is you'd need to use radiator-cap adapter hooked up inline with one of the hoses as the Neon doesn't use a cap on radiator.

I spent the money and got a Fluidyne. Installed easier than a $2 hooker and was dual core to boot. It was pricey, but it's functional and didn't have to hack/modify anything.

i think im gonna get a new ef radiator (good quality aluminum one ) and some really good clamps for the hoses to tighten that bitch down. and yea ive come to realize an eg rad is quite the hack job and looks horrible.

if you want to use the eg rad, i got a traction bar from swapshopracing.com and it has the mounts to run the eg style rad, its a quilty bar too, they also have kits for different b-series set up. if you get a chance check them out. hope that will help you out some.

im using the ef rad with samco radiator hoses... samco makes hoses specifically for this swap and they work great!!!

well just ordered an innovative traction bar with the bushing kit....i need one anyway even if i dont use the half rad soo thats on its way now... we'll see how it goes with the rad situation once its installed.

did you get your traction bar installed yet?
