Okay I have a 94 Del Sol si that currently has 95 ls and I am about to swap a 00 B16a2 into it. I was told that Del sols are already wired for vtec to like that firewall or so. I know that i need a knock sensor, vtec solenoid ect. Do I have to run the crank sensor since I am OBD1? Isn't there a jumper harness or something I can run for a clean plug and play setup? I am new to the OBD2 and vtec scene so be slow. Thanks

Is there something wrong with your LS? If not, then why not take the B16 head and put it on the LS block?

Wouldn't that take a lot more than just a b16 head like a lot of tuning and some other parts maybe? I dunno I'm not experienced enough to do a hybrid like that but that's what I would think.

ha unless you have about $3,000, considering you already have that b16 head, to build and tune that LS/Vtec than its gona break about every two weeks. nowhere near as simple as oh lets just put a b16 head on that ls and call it a day. not tryin to bash mr brutal but im just tryin to help someone out. but if you do have that kinda money and time then do it because that stock b16 isnt gona be an incredible difference than your ls in the del sol

i woulda went with an obd1 b16 but since you already have the obd2 you can get an ecu jumper harness and dizzy jumper from rywire. im uncertain on which ecu your gonna need but . the jumper should have the wires for the extra sensors

im building a LS vtec now... u need the golden eagle oil line kit and head gasket. - 220 bucks
ARP head studs - 120
tuning... idk how much depening i guess you can figure 300 to 400
decking block and head - 200
wiring and what not...
plus the time you hav eit off the road.
in parts itself comes to under 500
but is it worth it? sure if you want that extra 40 or 50 HP

yeah your shits gona break real soon with those stock internals. i know like three people with stock ls/vtec, if you dont go all out then dont go ls/vtec

im aware of that... and i have built block...

but he wanted to know what he needed... and thats what i gave him... do you NEED aftermarket pistons or rods?
no... should you?
ya i think you should be he didnt ask that

you have no clue at all what the hell you are talking about,my boy ran a stock bottom end lsvtec for over a year before he sold it,daily driven and raced hard on the weekends,
i would recommend using arp rod bolts if you do an lsvtec so you dont have to worry about em stretching, but if your set on the b16,go to rywire, they will help you out,but id do lsvtec and sell the b16 bottom end

all im sayin is that i know 3 people with stock ls/vtec and their shit breaks left and right. my boy had a fully built ls/vtec, eagle rods, forged pistons, balanced crank, tuned, slightly built head, that shit ran strong. basically im sayin if you dont have money to do something right then dont do it, ls/vtec is a race engine in my eyes and a race engine needs race parts. even if you put type r internals and make it a poorman type r thats great, i just wouldnt leave those ls pistons in there and i would have my bottom end cleaned

their shit break cuz they rigged shit,or they are trying to push it to 9grand
there are literally thousands of lsv's running around ct,all stock and rarely have probs, who does you guys swaps?

haha how do i not know what im talking about? i know three people with stock ls/vtec. each of their shits broke, meanwhile my friends brother had built ls/vtec with tuning that has lasted many years. how are you gona tell me that i dont know what im talking about? i know from past experience that if you dont spend time and money on a ls/vtec during the build process that your going to be spending time and money in the long run. not to mention ls/vtec with bone stock ls bottom ends arent that incredibly fast, theyre about the same as having a stock b16 maybe even a little slower.

Too bad it still doesnt fuckin matter. The OP isnt building an LS/V, hes just swapin a B16 into his car. How bout you stop shitin in his thread with irelevant info, rather its right or wrong.
