Im currently putting together every thing i need to swap a b18a into my 92 civic to replace the b16z6. I picked up an obd 1 ecu, b18b uncut engine wire harness, b18b dizzy, b18b injectors....
My 92 civic currently has a d16z6 in it.
my question is, will i be able to just plug in the engine wire harness and plug in the new ecu? or will i need to do some re-wire/ buy a 94-95 integra cabin harness?
Im hoping some one could answer me so i can avoid buying two service manuals that will only be used once...

if its teh same obd it'll plug right in... a quick 4 second search could have told you that though

well 4 hours of searching didn’t come up with the full picture i was looking for. Your answer helpful but it is only half the issue.
Now the question is,is the d16z6 obd1 or how can I verify that it is obd1.
I am assuming that it is because the install looks very clean, and the o2 sensor is 4 wire.

Seeing how i have never run across some one replacing a d16 with a b18 and im fairly new to wiring and Hondas, i wanted a cut and dry answer to these issues before i tare my daily driver half apart to do a 2 day swap and realize it will have to be down for a week or two to sort out an easy answer that could have been solved months ago.

Now that we are done with me justify why I asked the question that I did….. can we please get back on topic, so that any one else that might have the same issue down the road can also benefit from the information??

Or do we need to get into me justifying why im replacing a d16 with a b18…

obd0= 88-91
obd1= 92-95
obd2a= 96-98
obd2b= 99+

everything should plug right in seeing that they're the same OBD .. you can use your stock harness too... only thing you'll need is the shift linkage, axles, and correct mounts (someone correct me if i'm wrong though, but cant you use all the stock mounts except for the rear mount)

hey thank you so very much!
sorry i was a bit snippy... been having a rough time getting info.
there is a whole new level of complexity to the swap im actually using a b18a1 and a cable trans so In addition to the things you mentioned i also needed the obd1 injectors, ecu, dizzy, electronic speedo sensor, and hasport cable conversion.
well off to it then!
thank you so very much again and again sorry about the :mad:

i'd look for another motor if i was you(obd1).. easier swap, less miles most likely .. find an automatic too, so it hasnt been revved to hell and back.. mate a GSR tranny with it and be on your merry way.. :D

lol
true..
no i got a heck of a deal on this b18a deal well worth it even with all the additional stuff i need to buy.
the deal is this will be the DD engine and trans and i will be building a performance engine and it will be matted to an lsd trans.
then again if its direct plug and play i might just use the d16 as the dd set up...
