“I would just like to say ‘no smoking’ and see what happens and if they do smoke, [someone] has the right to have the police come and give them a ticket,” said Councilwoman Coralin Feierbach."

[Everyone in the country should help out Councilwoman Coralin Feierbach pictured above,(guess which one) and the fine folks of Belmont and give the police department a call reporting a possible smoking violation. Telephone: 650-595-7400

It's about time, some city had the gut's to tell folk's not to come out of their house if they smoke or get the hell out of our town!

] Ok, the one on the right was Heinrich Himmler, head of the nazi SS and Gestapo.
a great point and from speakeasy forum(dont wanna infringe on the copyright laws and all)

it took them this long to do that?
i heard about them brewing this up a few years ago.

total bullshit.

The ordinance was originally brought before the City Council by Ray Goodrich, an 84-year-old resident of Bonnie Brae Terrace, an assisted-living facility. Goodrich had suffered through years of breathing difficulties brought on by his chain-smoking neighbors, moving from apartment to apartment to escape the fumes that he says seeped through the building's ventilation system.

These council-people are fucking morons. Did he have to prove that his breathing problems came solely from other peoples' bad habits? People buy into the second hand smoke bullshit a little too easily.

Everyone always wants to believe sob stories and bullshit, but won't actually do any research themselves.

What happened to the burdon of proof? He's making wild claims, but he can't prove shit. That ordinance is retarded, no way breathing problems came from anywhere else. *eyeroll*

smoking is evil
cigarette companies are evil
sticking it to smokers and cigarette companies makes people feel good... they feel like they are fighting evil

you dont need proof if you are fighting evil

"apartments and condos."

no mention of houses.

it's because some asshole in the building ratted someone out because they were smoking and it smelled up their apartment. So, rather than closing the fucking window, they passed a city ordinance.

people need to get jobs that take up time so they don't have time to meddle in this stupid nonesense.

California is the test bed for legislation that will be adopted by every other state. Because as we all know, California is full of free spirits and progressives! They are out to save us from ourselves! I mean who doesnt want a cradle to the grave society? Its the government, they would never harm us!

<--Does not care about Cali. ore any of there whining.

<--Does not care about Cali. ore any of there whining.

the only problem with that line of thought is that too often, as drake said, the legislation that is passed in california ends up leaking out and polluting other states

so we all need to keep a close eye on what is getting passed and implemented there, because it is only a matter of time before it will be pushed on the rest of us

After you qouted me I noticed how damn bad my spelling was so this is a re-do.

<--Does not care about Cali. or any of their whining, as I live in OH so it will take quite some time for their legislation to make its way here.

and on a side note if i lived somewhere with neighbors who tried to get me arrested for smoking inside my own home (condo, apt, whatever)... i would cook the most overbearingly strong smelling curry dishes i could manage to create... i would probably put a crock pot on so i could have that shit just simmering all damn day stinking out the whole fucking neighborhood

fuck em

Me and Kristin grew pot in our first place we had together and our neighbor above us bitched to us about the smell of it to us, then smoked it with us later. Is that that same concept?

i was in LA a few years ago and you could not smoke in a culdasac (sorry spelling is bad) if you went in that hood you couldnt smoke it blew my mind being from south dakota where you can smoke anywhere

I think you are correct.. California is the test bed for everything!

so they're saving us from ourselves .. well, not me.. not a smoker.. but.. since its CA, cant we sue them for saving us when we didnt want to be saved.. :shrug2: .. everyone else does it

Let's pool our money, hire a Blackwater platoon, and have them stand guard as we light up in their city park

across the river from me in oregon you cant be closer than 10 feet from your place of business when smoking.
