hey guys..new to this site...having some trouble with my car ...idling alone actually and i need some assistance

what i did.....
i took a d15 block rebuilt it and threw a 99 vtec head on it, i guess y8....with the 99 ex manifold...dont know what exactly u call it....came off an automatic

my problem is the iacm is three pin for the 99 civic and the harness i am using is from a 92 automatic non vtec so some plugs are used others are not ...still have to wire vtec
but wont idle right...just surges

the existing connector for the iac is two pin...but doing some research i found some help but tryin to rewire using what i have doesnt work so can i go directly to the virgin p28 i am using or can i go off the other connectors and just fing the iac wire ....i dont know but i need to fix this problem wothoust reverting to the d15 manifold...
help

Well since it's an auto manifold what you could do is drill the holes for the 2 wire IACV on the back. As far as I know you can't splice the 2 wire on your connector to work with the 3 wire without changing your ECU.

automatics have iacv sensors also, and if you looked at my previous post there is the wiring diagram and info on how to make it work.

Isn't that diagram only for if you have a 3 wire harness and are going to a 2 wire IACV, which is the opposite of his 3 wire IACV and 2 wire harness?

you are right, I misread what he was trying to do.

he should still just bolt his old iac onto the new manifold, that is really the easiest way to solve the problem, otherwise it wont work because the newer 3 wire iac can't be driven by the ecu.

Yeah that 3 wire won't work. He can use his old one, but he is gonna have to add the mounting holes on the back for it because the auto Y8s don't have them.
