only problem it doesn't look dog friendly...so I guess it's back to looking for a pontoon boat....

the 1987 bit scares me a little. Fiberglass looks great, but the decking / stringers / transom are likely rotten. no trailer sucks. "needs engine work" is pretty vague. I'd take a look at it in person, and pay attention to wiring condition, check the decking for weak spots, etc. You can usually see the transom from inside the boat without much work. Figure out what exactly is wrong with the motor. Could just need a tune up.

I've seen several whos timing chains/belts were so old and stretched that the motor runs really shitty or not at all. I don't know how many I've seen that say "it just stopped running one day" and found a broken timing belt or something simple like that.

"Needs engine work."

I'd stay away from that one like the plague.

yeah, but I guess I'll pass on it...price-wize...it looks like a winner, but in this area a slip is out rageously over priced, and the no trail or truck is also bad...

And Holy Shit!!!...this listing was up 6 months ago for only $4000 --> Houseboat

Some people are dreaming big now days...

storing/docking/maintaining a boat is no joke. the price is a steal IMO, but does it have a trailer? in board motor work = $$$$$, do you have your boat license? insurance? and then insurnace and reg on the boat trailer, etc etc. it adds up quick.

not to mention its a bottomliner... what we call bayliners in florida. they are garbage, i am a boat mechanic and you couldnt pay me to take that boat. brand new boats break enough, that thing would be a maintenance nightmare. and thats after you re-power it lol

my dad bought that bought brand new in 1987, they dropped it into his slip at piliots point marina and it sank right to the bottom, no fucking lie. He ended up getting a 30 ft Celeberty

Why did it sink?

Why did it sink?
i have no idea, i was like 8 or 9 i just remember him yelling on the phone for hours at Bayliner, it was brand spanking new, they dropped it int he water, backed it into his slip and an hour later it sank lol...I am assuming the boyancey was off from the way the boat was built so it could not float? who knows i'm no physics buff..

The Celebery was a nice ass boat though, he named it "The Impossible Dream"

just out of curiosity, what is a typical slip rental in CT?

I thought you wanted a motor home?

-or is that some bat-shit idea I've projected onto you....?

Why did it sink?

Cuz it's a bayliner and the old ones were piles of shit.

We have the factory here in washington. I have a couple HS buddies that work there, and they won't get in a bayliner, yet alone buy one, and they work there.

i was scared of our jets in the air force. some of the crew chiefs were the dumbest people i had met in my entire life.

I want a motor home, a boat, a truck....I have a huge yard and bank account...

I've been working on helicopters now for over 7 years, and I'm on flight status, (been working on planes of all types since 1990) and I do all kinds of maintenance and adjustments......

and I still haven't flown on one... Mostly because they only fly in the daytime, and I'm on 3rd shift. And that's really strange...because we've just built the 100th S-92...and I've never been on it, and I've built over 200 blackhawk's and 100 S-76's...and I still don't have 1 minute in the actual aircraft.

<- ex F-15 crew chief

And I have had flights for things like a complete rebuild of a Cessna's flight control cables that I made myself, and I flew in it with a pilot...and he said he's never flown one that smooth before. After he took off...all he was flying by was trim alone...we had good weather that day...

Every pilot that has flown in my birds after I worked on them has always said something good. But there are aircraft that I haven't done all the inspections to or most of the work to, but they also have my name attached to it because I have done something to it in it's build at some time or another...and I've seen other people's work...and you won't catch me on those ships.

flight mechanics aren't as dumb as you think;)

i know you are a smart guy. and there are some people that are really smart that just like to work on jets. i'm just saying that i knew some guys i wouldn't work on a little red wagon, let alone a multi-million dollar aircraft.

there are a lot of former aircraft guys here. i was avionics, you were a crew chief, i think cam (silverchild) was hydraulics.

I also want to buy a plane.....

I'm sick of helicopters and cars...:(
