I love my Honda
okay FLUKE TrannY Issue

>93 Da hatch with b18a ys1 5spd
>the other day i was driving and all of a sudden it while in 5th it pops out
* i then put it back in and again it popped out.. every other gear is fine it just wont stop popping out of 5th gear. i drove it on the highway and it was becoming annoying to keep putting it back into 5th only for it to pop back out.
> i then held it in 5th up to 80mph. it ran fine but i could tell it was still trying to pop back out and it eventually did.
Now there is a clip on the shift linkage off the slave coming out of the transmission that looked loose and the boot cover was ripped....
Q: will i need to replace the transmission or should i just replace the slave, shift linkage,bushing,GL5, boot?

slave cyl will effect your clutch (dead pedal), not fall out of gear.

you got a bad shift fork or something internal

sounds weird, but I know you may want to check your mounts for excessive rocking of the engine that can cause problems, but usually in every gear.

Theres always the possibility of the transmission fluid being low. I had that happening to me, and I filled it up, didn't have a problem since.

the synchronizer detent ring in the trans is worn out. once that wears out, it allows the gear to "walk" out into neutral. rebuild due before it comes loose and the trans grenades.

wow he called that.
Time for a new tranny. See if your 5th gear is still worth anything and maybe a b16/Ls tranny hybrid.
