Ok so I will go ahead and put it out here. I know nothing about these cars. That is why I am here. I do know it's a K20 6 speed manual tranny. It's got disk brakes all the way around(i've heard it's stock with drums in the back). And it's got the 5 lug conversion. Here is what I am looking for, what kind of performance parts I should be looking for as far as should I be looking for the RSX-S parts for the engine and tranny? The guy says it's got the Acura suspension under it. I couldn't tell you cause I have no idea haha. It's lower with Skunk 2 springs with a nice catback exhaust(crisp sound not so much like a fart can). Also what size brakes should I look for, again should I be looking at the RSX-S stuff if so what year. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the suspension or brakes at the moment but I do have some to show. Side questions are how much does this engine and tranny swap cost? I paid 9000 for the car and there are no problems with it that I have found except some feathering on the back tires causing a roar haha.

My last vehicle was a 93 Ford Lightning Pickup truck. I do know a lot about it and the "muscle" car of Ford the Mustang but have no idea on Civics. I know this was a decent deal for a pretty quick car so I just jumped on it. Oh and it's a 2001 Honda Civic EX.

Well yeah...I got certified mileage on it from Acura at 33k miles...Oh and I am in the Marine Corps so all of my income is disposable =] I paid 10 for my 93 Lightning and it had 86k!

What kind of performance parts are you thinking of buying? For intake, header, and exhaust, you'll need specially designed parts that are made for that particular swap. For anything else (cams, internals, whatever) you would just buy for whatever car the engine came from...

:slap:

damn military people. just because you have money, doesn't mean you have to spend it.

When i left the service, my biggest regret was not having saved more cash. Look around your squad. how many people live paycheck to paycheck? how many have a nice car, but can't afford gas? or how many have a baller car and live in a shit ass apartment? or they can't go on vacations because they dont' have cash.

Try to get an education while you are young, or at least save some money. Try to set a goal for an amount of money to have when you get out of the military. when you get out, you can have a lot of money saved and not need to work. you could take a couple years off.

9k for that doesn't seem to bad considering older civics with k's go for that a lot.

however its a heaver chassis, and partly kills the idea of having that engine.

engine/transmission parts would be from the RSX type S.

and suspension/brakes you would definitely have to check with the original owner, but I would guess from the acura as well with how it sounds. Perhaps from the EP3 Si, those had disk brakes.

I would make sure with the previous owner on what parts they used.

yeah, it's a very good price for the car. usually those civics are close the that much stock.

the wife paid 12k - ish back in 2004 for her 01 civic lx with 75k miles. Its about to break 100k this month. Not a bad deal considering they still go for about 6k+ stock depending on the mileage and model.
