$12,500 for an 05' s2k with 137 miles. Yes thats 137 miles not 137,000. The deal is through work, where they sell cars previously used for business. Examples would be promotional cars for auto shows, ect.. This one was a trainee car. Basically it has been taken apart and put back together a few times. Sounds risky, but it does have a warantee for another 2 years.

I'm in a lottery right now for the rights to purchase it. I have a 1 in 4 chance of getting picked. I've always wanted a rwd weekend car. I never thought it would be an s2k, but there's no other car that comes close to this for 12k.

Thoughts?

good luck. do you have the cash available for it?

it's like getting a brand new car for $12,500...pretty good deal.

I wish I had 12.5k laying around... I think I could put down for half of it, then take out a loan for the rest.

I already have 2 cars tho. My maxima is my dd and stays no matter what. My civic has been my project coming on 3 years and it would be hard to let go.

The catch is that some of the bumpers have scuffs from being removed multiple times. Also, who knows if everything was reassembled correctly. Finally, the car is at a R&D facility in Cali, and it would be bought sight unseen.

It is so tempting... I've always had fwd cars. Yesterday I had to move my roomated 240sx, and I took it for a little spin. It was so much fun making it oversteer around corners. I would be in jail driving a s2k lol.

I hope you get it man. Thats a great price. Someday I would like to have own. I drove a blue club racer when I worked at the dealership I only got to drive around the shop to do an oil change on it but it was still really badass.

Well damn... no luck. This week they have a 97' ITR with 500 miles on it. It's been sitting under a cover for 12 years. Asking price is $10,000.

I would never get an ITR tho. My current civic will kill it in most performance aspects, and won't get stolen every week.

Still that would be nice to have that fresh of a type r. I wouldn't mind driving one everyday. Has the ITR also been taking apart many times?

Isn't 97 the first year in America for the type r?

Not sure. All i know is that everything is original on it down to the tires and fluids.

Yeah that is a little steep for it sitting that long. I wonder if they drained any of the fluids or prepared it any for storage or just parked it.

Well damn... no luck

does that mean you're not getting the s2k? if so then damn that sucks, i was hoping you'd get it and post some pics.

i say you should not buy another car and just put some more into that civic and make it even better. like for instance get a LHT cooler, and then whatever else you want to upgrade like brakes or suspension or something... at least thats what i would do, considering you already have another good car

Well the civic is getting a new 3" exhaust, and a limited slip. Right now I am satisfied with the power. The civic has 2 critical flaws. 1. its fwd. 2. its a 14 year old civic that needs constant attention to keep from rusting out.
