I would like any feed back that anyone has about short throw shifters

from what i can tell from research it allows for less movement between shifts because it gives diffrent leverage angles on the linkage, but takes more effort to shift

so if anyone is using one or has opinions about them i would like to hear about it

nope easy to shift, they are normaly the same hight as stock just a shorter distance from gear to gear. I have a 40% in my crx and its waaaaaaayy better!

I have and preffer the Skunk2 short shifter.

thanks, any one had any bad expirence with and aftermarket throw shifter?
I did, kinda. My left leg couldn't keep keep up with the speed of my arm shifting when I had a short shifter. I would grind gears every so often at the drag strip so I pulled that shit out, put the stock one back, and no more grinding issues :)

stay away from cheap aftermarket ones off eBay.. IMO.. find a OEM Type R shift lever and use that

I rocked an egay shifter in my EF for some time, then I made my own from the stock shifter the ebay one was super light aluminum making it not very balanced that is the only problem I had with it.

what car

stay away from cheap short throws, they can make your shit grind..(i had a ebay one) skunk2 or oem type-r (thats what i have and love!)

I have a B&M straight stick pro shifter in my crx and love it. much better than the ebay crap I had in my old hatch.

I had a b&m in my old civic si. I really see them as somewhat of a gimmick. Yea it was cool the shifter only moved a few inches during a shift, however my car now has the stock shifter and I've never once thought it was a long throw or grinded gears.

We're lucky with how good our shifters are stock. My maxima is atleast double the throw of my civic. Ever driven a taraus sho? It's like pulling a sloppy e-brake lever every time.

apc ebay shifter in my hatch and transferred it to my rex, worx fine for me,and i slam gears, wish it was heavier though..ive heard the Skunk2 with skunk2 weighted knob is the best shift yet

blox makes a shifter that is near copy of the skunk2 but for alittle less cash and the weight knob is great

I had someone tell me that BLOX is almost a complete replica of Skunk2 because the owners or BLOX used to work at Skunk2 or something. i don't know anything about that but i have a Skunk2 shift knob and it's the same as a BLOX. I.M.O, getting a nicely weighted knob will do wonders.....

95 del sol s, its the DD and if i like the throw shifter i was thinking about getting a brand name one for the civic. the one i got was off egay, 12 bucks, if it sucks i will sell it for 20 and if it works thats great.

win win
