In case you haven't seen this, someone figured out a way to use game theory to convert stupidity into money.

Bid on almost anything! Woohoo! Look! 40 1080p TVs selling for $30! High end espresso coffee makers for $10! What a steal!

And it only costs $0.75 to bid! And you can even bid on packs of 300 bids! And some auctions are penny auctions!

Like that 60” Sony 1080p DLP! It is up for auction right now at ~$85 on the Penny Auctions! Which means that in $0.01 increments there’s been about 8500 bids on it.. at $0.75 per bid..

this is pure genius right here. allegedly they take all the money they get from the auctions and use it to buy it from a 3rd part to send to you.

Scam

You have to buy your bids.....I saw this along time ago and its border lining scam.

The company usually makes around twice the value of the product being sold at an insanely low price.

Internet gambling at its finest!

Read up kids!

thats what he said.
lol

i think its fucking genius though.
the fact that they could possibly get a nice tv for hella cheap doesnt bother them that it costs them $.75 to bid.
cuz if everyone else just happens to forget, they get a nice tv for cheap. if they dont get the tv, they only lost $.75.

twice? there is a camera that retails for $1300 that i'm watching. (just for fun) it has $33.30 in bids. over 3300 bids, at $.75/bid=$2,475 in bids. the last one sold for $268. at $.01 increment per $.75 bid, thats $20,100 in bids.
i had this idea 4 years ago :(
you can make an american version :shrug2:

holy shit..
omg..
i need to start thinking up this kind of shit..

Uhmmmm I don;t know about this site....I mean look how long the auctions last for..some ending up to April 13th.....If no one bids with 20 seconds you win? Which means they prolly have a call center full of people bidding on this stuff to keep the aution up and running so real bidders can never get item at some rediculous price meanwhile making a fortune...

i think they might have a person bid at like 19 seconds or something just to keep it from closing, but i doubt they bid a lot.
then theyd lose money.

Just saw this. I'm going to run my luck on it. Tons of auctions end super early. They sell to you cheap. Everyone wins. No one loses more than a few bucks, etc.
