Could Michael Vick Play in New Pro League? | News | BET.com

Three of the four initial coaches of the newly formed United Football League are former NFL coaches, seemingly adding a bit of credibility to yet another try at non-NFL professional football.

Michael Vick

The coaches are former New York Giants coach Jim Fassel, who will lead the Las Vegas team; former Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green as San Francisco's coach; and ex-New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett for Orlando. Ted Cottrell, who will lead the New York team, is the only one of the new coaches who has never held that position in the NFL.
There are also reports that the new league is trying to woo Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick to play in its first season, reports the SportsXchange.com.
Vick is scheduled to be released from prison in May but faces a suspension from the NFL for his conviction related to dogfighting.

hed probably be a cheap pickup and a decent addition to a team as long as he didnt get roughed up too bad in jail.

I'm with B. I wish he got shot when his house got raided. You can take the kid out of the ghetto....

It's all irrelevant anyhow, this league is never going to get off the ground and be successful.

Just refer to the USFL, Arena Football, or even the XFL to see what happens to the NFL's competitors. Hell, even the World League, which the NFL ran, couldn't gain any market share.

As for Ron Mexico, I say turn a few dogs loose on him.

they need to add fightintg to the new league
then see what market share they pick up
i want to see some "street" ball
make it a shorter field too for more points
clothes line tackle gets a bonus point

he'll be in the NFL. there is no incentive for him to go there. that league already got pushed back a year due to lack of funds.

i was a huge fan of Vick back in the day. i would like to see him get back into the league and play some ball.

and there is nothing "ghetto" about dog fight. most ghetto people can't afford it. it's for rich black people, not port ghetto hood niggas.

After his release and the terms of his probation are determined, the matter of punishment from the NFL must be settled. As things stand now, Vick is banned indefinitely. Now we all know that term is just a word and this could change, but Roger Goodell has not shown himself to take punishments lightly. In fact, he is much more of a taskmaster than his predecessor and his letter to Vick after the indictments was rather scathing. If the NFL holds to the ban and/or suspension, rule out the Canadian Football League as well. The CFL, since 2007, honors the suspensions of NFL players. Then, there are the rumors of the United Football League bringing Vick back to football (Read Terry McCormick’s recent article in The City Paper for more on this).

i once again have to call into question your grip on reality as the rest of the world sees it
everything about dog fighting is ghetto
rich people just have more dogs
watch the animal planet and then tell me that shit isn't ghetto as fuck

ok, let me rephrase that. the level he was on, was not ghetto.

and the nfl shouldn't ban him. you think he hasn't served his time? he was in prison for 2 years. what good does not allowing him to work do?

ray lewis had murder charges, matt leinart was giving underage girls alcohol, pacman jones had 312415 instances, the guy from dallas had felony gun charges.

if vick raped a girl, he would be in the NFL this year. he did some dog fighting and now PETA is hip deep in the NFL's ass.

This in no way means Goodell won't reinstate him. Good NFL QB's are hard to find right now and there are a ton of teams who would love to sign him and a tons of fans that will pay to watch him play. As long as the fans spend their hard earned money towards the NFL, Goodell will reinstate him for sure.

i personally think any animal made to fight by humans for their enjoyment is ghetto
but maybe thats just me

i agree he shouldn't be banned, mainly cause i don't give a fuck about him
but you also have to think that his job isn't just work
he's a "role model" to lots of kids, and with that role comes certain responsibilities

What about humans made to fight by humans(through the use of contracts and money)? :)

I don't know if he should be suspended or not. He's a good athlete, but not a good role model. If it was me, I probably wouldn't have him on my team.

I agree with you in most of this aspect, but at that, that's why they have a NFL code of Conduct that is very strict. If you get a DUI, you get suspended, etc.

I think after he is out of prison, he'll play in the NFL again. I'm not sure where he will end up, I was hoping SF, but the owner said no go on vick already.

i would love to have him on the seahawks. this team needs more good athletes.

I see 1 of 4 teams....

San Fran
Oakland
Minnesota
Detroit

.. have him fight a dog, lets see how he feels being torn up.. anyways.. fuck this sorry bastard.. hope he never plays again

i think spending 2 years in prison getting fucked in the ass enough redemption to get his job back.

really, should he not be allowed to work his former career because of something like that?
