Crazy Insane
Hey all,
Well as you know tomorrow is Friday the 13th. I have the pleasure of going to court for the first time tomorrow. Why you might ask? For the heinous crime of riding my 50cc Yamahopper without insurance. When I got caught riding it I had JUST (that day) gotten a new tire and tube installed after searching for about 3 years. I told the officer this but "that's no excuse". The fine for no insurance is about $2850, over 10 times what I payed for the bike (I've already paid over $500 for no registration and getting it out of the impound). SO does any one have some advice as to what I can do? I might try to see the crown prosecutor before court and try to get the charge dropped but I'm pretty sure they're just going to bend me over and give me the splintery broomstick of the law.
Any fucking advice you could fucking give me would be fucking appreciated. Thanks.

^^^^ what he said... that's how i got off with a pot charge lol

also... come to the usa... we dont have crazy fines like that.. .. but our government suck bawls

rebel against the system man, and i mean if you show up to court loaded down with guns and ammunition they will know that your not fucking around, or you will goto jail for along time its your choice man lol

yea.. if you have insurance on it now then they may drop the charges

:withstupid:

thats what i was thinking... here you only need a drivers license (not motorcycle license) for anything under 50cc (49.9 and lower) no plates no insurance nothing

Insurance required
54(1) Except as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall not do any of the following:
(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

Straight from the books. It's really gay and the cop who busted me was British, which was extremely gay. He scared the fuck out of me, I was sitting at a red light minding my own business and he just stepped out in front of me and asked for my license registration and insurance.
Just for shits and giggles:

I'm pretty sure the "under 50cc" law used to apply here but I think I just got caught by the wrong cop. I got pulled over for having frosty windows in my ef one time and it just so happened that my insurance had "expired" about 16 minutes prior (it was just after midnight). Also my license was "the worst I've ever seen" (exact quote) and my registration was also expired, and the cop let me go with just the frosty windows ticket. Also got pulled over for haulin off a light with my "test pipe" exhaust blowing blue smoke like crazy... he let me go too.
Thanks for your support guys, I knew I could count on Hondaswap for all my legal needs.

Cops will use any excuse they have to rape you in the ass. It's sad that I never actually see cops doing any good, all I ever see is all the cars pulled over for menial speeding tickets.

everybody hates the police until its time that you need them and make that phone call.
even gangsters.
the problem is... the few times i have needed them and made the call, they either took forever to show up, or didnt bother showing up, allowing the people i was calling them about to get away... and none of the times did they bother doing anything about what i called them for, other than treating me like an asshole for trying to make them do some actual cop work...
i dont bother calling them anymore for anything other than clean up and/or a police report

honestly, dress nice, and be really respectful, thats how i got out of a "Breaking and Entering" for skateboarding a pool in a condemned house's back yard lol

yep, they NEVER come out. some guy on a bicycle knocked the mirror off of the G37 while marsha was driving down town. said she cut him off and was going to beat her up. She called the cops and even had witnesses and a person who knows him was standing there to get his name, addy and phone number.

cops didn't come after 2 hours of waiting. the police station is 4 blocks away from where it happened.

also, is your bike licensed with plates? oh, and you weren't driving on a highway. you were on a city street.

i would get insurance for it and take it to court and say that you didn't have insurance because you just got it running, but you have it now.

Yeah, my bro always says "Police are historians". Never there when you need em, always when you don't.
I don't have plates or insurance, but I'm not going to insure my scooter in the middle of march :D
Jeremy- you nailed my plan on the head :D I'm just gonna try to pull this off as pro as possible and hope they just drop everything.
Also I think that "Highway" refers to any public road by their lingo.
Well I'm off to fight this battle, thanks again for your support guys!

You're stuck like chuck. You were breaking the law and got caught. Admit that, do not try to deny it in the court. Dress sharp, be respectful, carry yourself well (head up, shoulders square, sit correctly, no slouching, etc) and hope for the best. If you even get a chance to explain, tell them that you had been working on the bike for 3 years and had taken it out on a test run, which was a stupid thing to do and you certainly will not be doing that ever again. Admit you were wrong and hope for leniency. If you try to justify it, the court is going to see that as "I broke the law but I don't care and the rules don't apply to me". Then you're going to get the splintery broom handle of the law.

You'd be surprised how much they appreciate the truth.
